I started watching this classic episode of Bonanza which was so popular in the 60´s. At first it was a lot of fun to see the actors again, even though the makeup and lighting were obviously cheap by today´s standards. It was especially interesting to see De Forrest Kelly playing a drunken journalist. As the story progresses there are confrontations with Indians (Native Americans) who are portrayed as savages who will scalp any rider they catch crossing their land. One of the main actors, Victor Jory, tries to present the Indians with a treaty and is killed and sent back on horseback to his people. What follows is an all out assault by the whites on the Indians, resulting in many dead. Even Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) joins in the massacre. Forget Wounded Knee. I can´t believe that US Television could produce such a terrible distortion of history. Shame on you!
