Obsessive compulsive Travis Block (Liam Neeson) works off the books for the head of the FBI (Aidan Quinn) a former Vietnam War buddy. It is his job to protect the FBI agents using unorthodox means. He discovers that his boss has been having civilian dissidents murdered. He is drawn into situation. The plot was shallow without a lot of intrigue. The film needed to be longer as the ending came together in a hurry and we never saw the fallout. It appears to have been over edited. Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.

This was an action popcorn movie. There may have been some scenes that were cut because it took a while to figure out was going on with the Liam character. People kept talking about his mental health or quirks, which I thought had to do with his job. Nope, it's related to the fact he has OCD and has to do some things 3 times. It's implied this helps him with his undercover work. Okay that's the hook At least they didn't do the hook off wife died and now I'm a hopeless drunk living ina pig sty (as a matter of fact everyone's home is gorgeous). Although they gave him a daughter, granddaughter, and a wife who left me hook. Anyway I still don't know what Operation Unity did, except they killed innocent civilians, but why? I still don't know. Liam's job, in case you missed it is to recover agents with blown covers and/or have started to believe the character they are playing. Doesn't matter, it's just a setup for fight scenes, blowing up stuff, and chase scenes. Hubby and I both liked the movie. I was entertained so 7 stars from me.

. . . long-time American secret police director "Mary" Hoover, BLACKLIGHT is sure to delight all of Today's right-minded citizens--especially when off-the-books agent Travis guns down, electrocutes and otherwise dispatches seven of Mary's "Special Agents" inside Mary's own home, sees to it that Mary's extensive wine collection is thoroughly machine gunned, and transforms this den of iniquity into a tear-down property good only for bull-dozing. As well as giving Mary's property a date with the wrecking ball, Travis gives a shot in the arm to the sort of investigative journalism which made Woodward and Bernstein famous. Though one editor fears that "They'll just cover-up the cover-up with another cover-up," American media will always tell the Evil Authorities that "You're gonna need more men."

I actually though this would have been a sort of Taken movie but was i wrong. Sadly this movie is boring for the most part and the action is far a part. Almost nothing happens and it feels like a drama of a grand father trying to reconnect with is daughter and is grand daughter.... I would skip this one its pretty bad.

With Blacklight, Liam Neeson has almost fully completed his transformation into something resembling Bruce Willis: a jaded veteran actor who has stopped caring entirely, showing up for a simple paycheck regardless of the script. This is one of the most unforgivably boring movies I have ever seen. There are no action sequences; just scenes where people sometimes shoot, punch, and kick, mostly at things and people off screen to hide poor stunt work. There are no characters; just people who occasionally appear and disappear throughout the movie and never actually have any distinguishable traits or goals beyond their choice of career. There is no dialogue; just mumbo-jumbo words that the people in the movie say to convey to the audience something resembling a story. It's not as bad as The 355, mostly because this movie doesn't pretend to be any smarter than it is. Still, stay far away from this one. Go watch Schindler's List. Or even Taken; at least Liam Neeson gave it his all in that one and gave it some emotional weight.

The way the Director of the World's most powerful organization 'goes down' or the way he confesses to his so called Operation, is a big wtf. I still cannot fathom why they inserted the obsessive compulsive disorder thing n can someone tell me why is the movie named Blacklight? Generous with a 4 cos of Neeson. I hope n pray that Liam Neeson doesn't become another Bruce Willis.

It's hard to believe that someone made this story with such a dumb and improbable script. To make things worse, most of the acting is mediocre, except for the two women who played the reporters. And maybe Liam is getting a little old for these types of roles.
