Jeunet is back and it's amazing what he can do on a tight budget.
It's a smart film, unfortunatelly with a small world building and with a running time of about 2 hrs, it feels like there could have been more substance to make this movie greater.
Nevertheless, it's an over-the-top sci-fi comedy with great actors and stunning production values, set designs and effects.
Somewhere between Blade Runner, The Terminator, Delicatessen and Jaques Tati, this movie is recommended for everyone who is fed up with all that american sci-fi uniformity. Bigbug is entertaining and crazy and shows again, why Jeunet is such a gifted filmmaker.
Watch and enjoy the trip.

One of the worst films I've seen as of late.
Just to get it out of the way, I don't mind subtitles at all - I watch a ton of shows in various languages (some of my favourite shows are in german, spanish, and korean) and I always have subtitles on even for english films. So that's not a problem.
What is a problem is the horrible acting, the awful story, characters that make no sense, and an extremely drab setting. It looks like the "future" someone would have imagined in the 70s. There is also nothing original about this film. There's been better films that talk about our reliance on technology and the potential perilous results of such that were done decades ago. (iRobot, for example)
There isn't anything good about this film. Don't waste your time on it.

The Classic cliches of over-the-line french comedy is all here in this unsorted sequence of mostly unfunny and overperformed gags which should tell the viewer a message: technology is making us dependent from it, turning us into slaves of our slaves.
Sounds familiar? Yes, this is the message behind a couple of millions of other movies.
That said, great CGI and some funny instants ("moments" would be too generous) let this movie achieve a 5/10.

If you expect a real storyline that will develop as the movie goes on then you maybe disappointed. Watch this like you are there with the humans and see the beautiful ideas behind this then you are much more likely to enjoy this futuristic dystopian portrait of human life in a robot world.

The only thing funny about this terrible film is that it's labeled a comedy. It takes less than a minute into it to see that it's going to be a train wreck and in that regard it certainly doesn't disappoint.
