They Just put the twists for the sake of thrill by sacrificing basic sense. Making fool of audience by showing all the stuff first which later makes no sense at all after the twist. And then they cook up useless half boiled foolish forced explanations

A political thriller setup that has been used to death in Indian films, a haunted house setup and even some of the shots reminding of Manichithrathaazhu, a brilliant Anushka reminding of her own Arundhati in the horror sequences, Malayalam actors in the other main roles and Tamil actors in the comic relief(?) roles in this Telugu film. Then there are the twists reminding of The Usual Suspects and Pizza then to get over that they use twists over twists till they contradict each other. On one hand there is this silly over the top script filled with ridiculous dialogues that moves from one preposterous scenario to another and on the other hand there is the capable cast who gives their best and pretty good production design but at the end it is easily one of the worst films of the year.

Story
Chanchala (Anushka) is an IAS officer who works as personal secretary to irrigation minister (Jayaram). A lot of precious idols are stolen from temples. Irrigation minister who is an honest politician threatens the high command in a public meeting. Home department orders a CBI enquiry into this issue with an intention to frame irrigation minister in a scam. Chachala who is serving jail term for killing a guy is taken to a secret location of Bhaagamathie Bungalow for interrogation. Rest of the story is all about what happens in Bhaagamathie Bungalow.
Artists Performance
Bhaagamathie jeevi review Actors: Anushka is elegant as Chanchala. She is terrific in interval scene as Bhaagamathie. This is her 1st release after Baahubali 2 and it's nice to watch her on big screen again. Malayalam actor Jayaram does justice to the pivotal role of a politician. Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan Nair is okay as love interest of heroine. Malayalam actress Asha Sharath is good as a CBI officer. Dhanraj, Prabhas Seenu and Vidyulleka Raman provide entertainment and Dhanaraj's character is story driven. Murali Sharma is good as a cop.
Director G Ashok comes up with strong characters and a screenplay that holds well.
The basic story idea seems to have been taken from the Hollywood classic 'Usual Suspects'. Concept of narrating a fictitious horror story in a thriller came first in Telugu films with Pizza.
Though the screenplay of the film is good, the director has taken a few liberties. 'Usual Suspects' film is about telling an imaginary story by using the names/brands written on objects in that room. The investigators realise it after the suspect is let off. In 'Bhaagamathie' too, Anushka creates an imaginary story based on wordings and books in Bhaagamathie Bungalow and misleads the investigator. But in the process, the director has deliberately misled audiences in these two aspects
1. Home Ministry sending an investigator without briefing her with the facts they have. (this is purely to make audience to presume that Jayaram is good and HomeMinistry/Govt is bad at the beginning of the film)
2. The scenes in which Murali Sharma enters Bhagamathie Bungalow with an intention to shoot (Bhaagamathie nailing her palm, burning of the book etc). These scenes are shot to establish that Bhaagamathie is a ghost. Since it's not on spy cameras, it's only meant to convey to audiences (not to the investigator)
People wouldn't mind such scenes in a regular commercial film. But a content/screenplay based film like Bhagamathie, these misleading scenes may not go well with narrative!

A wonderful movie made me felt WOW while watching. The entire movie tied the audience to focus it, as there is no such distractions or unwanted stuffs. Each scene had its important, though some scenes are illogical and confusing.. that did not spoiled the interest.
Wonderful architecture can be seen in the movie.. even little things will wonder us.. Like in a scene when anushka open the door a hand like lock will hold her hands that was really nice.. The entire palace and the ideology was awesome and it perfectly matched with the story..
Anushka's acting was brilliant and the credits should goes to the director. He utilized her talent well to renovate the movie. Such a good mysterious thriller movie in Tamil.

So, I saw Bhaagamathie yesterday. I'm giving it 5 stars only for Anushka. The movie was rubbish. The only reason I watched it is because Anushka was starring in it. I love watching her in warrior princess roles. This was something like that. Well, there was a warrior princess. It's a one time watch, only if you want to know what the hell is going on in the movie. The trailer was quite intriguing.
Chanchala IAS played by Anushka is accused of murdering her boyfriend. She was the personal assistant to Minister Eshwar Prasad played by Jayaram. The CBI wants to nab the minister for fraud or something and decides that Chanchala is the best person to help them. They take her to an old, possibly haunted house (god knows why) for interrogation. They leave her locked up in that house at night, because apparently there's no way she could escape, right? They also leave two constables outside to guard her. Anyhoo, mysterious things begin to happen and she gets thrown around and beaten up by invisible forces and soon enough becomes possessed by the ghost of the queen of the house.
If you haven't watched the movie, *** DON'T READ ANYMORE; SPOILERS AHEAD***
Ending was a variation of The Usual Suspects. She used clues around her to make up a story and pretended to be possessed by Bhagamathie or pretend that she has a split personality disorder or something. Point is, nearly all of it was her doing. Here's my problem- the first time she showed that she was possessed, she was dressed in Bhaagamathie's sari. But merely 2 minutes before, she was dressed in her kurta and pants. Not possible.
Then there was her attacking the doctor who came to examine her. The table had a ridiculously long table cloth. That was so the awesome scene of her transforming could happen. WHHHYYYYY??????
There were so many things in the movie that didn't make any sense with the ending we were given. Her bag of stuff was what someone gave her. It couldn't have the wires she needed to make it so that things were moving around on its own. There was one scene in the end when Asha Sarath's character finds one wire attached to a chair. The movie just pretended that was an explanation for everything we saw. It was not. What about the doors closing? Or her being pulled back into the room? Her ability to hit people so hard that they flew across the room? Where did she get identical substitutes for the stuff the exorcist left in the house? EEEGGGAAAAD!!!
If the writers had paid a little bit more attention, this would've been a good movie. There were just too many unanswered questions for me.

Movie: Bhaagamathie (UA): Action/Horror/Thriller - Telugu
BHAAGAMATHIE is the first film I've seen in theatre, first day first show. Plus, unexpectedly it was without subtitles! But I was able to understand the story and many of the dialogues.
Positives:
Anushka's performance is extremely mindblowing and realistic. She is the soul of the film and doesn't fail to impress. All other actors too deliver great performances.
The screenplay of the film is watertight and razor sharp, and as a result it doesn't deviate at all.
The thrills of the film are impressive and the film uses humour in some proportions, very well.
The film manages to scare you right from the beginning, and as a result does justice to its genres.
The production values are excellent, grand and top notch.
The music by SS Thaman is melodious and exciting at the same time.
The interval blockade is excellent and drew a lot of whistles and applause from viewers. Even I was left stunned and my mouth was left open.
Some of the action blocks are also impressively done.
Negatives:
Seriously, nothing!
Repeat value: Yes
Overall, BHAAGAMATHIE is a highly entertaining action-horror thriller which has all the necessary elements to keep you hooked to the edge of the seat. Since I saw it without subtitles, I've got a reason to watch it again when subtitles will be available. But language barrier can be broken, and films from the southern filmmakers have already proven that. Even without subtitles, I had no problem in following the story and ended up enjoying it as a whole. Go, book your tickets soon!

I am a big fan of horror movies, and really like some classic ones like Pizza (Tamil) , Shutter (Thai) etc.
So I definitely wanted to see this movie irrespective of the ratings. It's a horror movie and it's got Anushka Shetty, what more can I ask ? Well, I should have asked for a more convincing script and non-cliched scenes !
Nevertheless I think you can watch this movie. It's extremely cliched , with the same old same old. Her acting is fantastic, and towards the end, with all the twists etc, you still want a more convincing story.
At times, it will also remind you of Manichitrathazhu ( or Bhool Bhoolaiya, if you must ) . Most of the movie will keep you interested, but if you are horror fan like me in general, you won't find the movie that scary. You will laugh at what you predict also.
