I really enjoy this genre of movie usually and I'm a very light hearted person who tends to laugh allot watching movies. However this movie wasn't even funny or cute, the audio sounded terrible and the actors need to go back to drama school and the director needs to give up ! Im wondering where all these good reviews are coming from ?

An earlier 20 minute short expanded to feature length and boy, does it show. This one is dragged out endlessly and is handled in a jokey way on what is obviously a tight budget, but the main problem with it is just the lack of storyline. It feels meandering at times, with half-hearted caricature human roles and humour that doesn't work too often. The one thing it has going for it are the low budget FX, which are handled decently for what they are, but I lost interest early on.

Dreadfully annoying movie. I guess the writer felt gore was all it needed and left the talent or entertainment out of it. I thought it would never end it was AWFUL.

I rely on ratings here for most of my movies and after seeing the surprising amount of high reviews decided to give this a try. It is a low budget British horror / comedy with horrible acting and a played out storyline. The main character is unlikeable and his bear Benny, while I'll admit I laughed at first, got exhausting. I've sat through some low quality horror movies in the past and made it through mildly entertained but this mess was too much. Turn back!

No I do not know the filmmaker - so while maybe friends of his are reviewing this (as someone suggested), I am not one of those. Having said that, I have a heart for low budget movies and this is clearly one of those cases. The fact that it took over 5 years (or more if you add the conception to the mix) is either something you consider or not. But you can tell it is a labor of love ... and the love is as big as Benny has for the main character. That does not mean that love can not be aimed (without intent) at the wrong things. And also it can mean that it does produce or make things worse. I reckon you know what Benny is up to ... the poster is quite clear on that. And as clear as the poster is on what is happening here, as clear is the movie when it comes to tone. It is a horror comedy - you either dig that or you don't. That does not mean that the movie is better or worse than you feel it is. It does mean that the filmmaker put a lot of love and hours into making this. And while you can at many shots (the 3D effects he was working on mostly), the movie overall still more than works.

I'm not a fan of the campy horror genre in general, but Benny didn't illicit any laughs or scares for me. Benny mixes Chucky and Elmo, but doesn't come up with a good result.

I cannot believe some studio actually spent money on this. Not even worth saying much of anything about this piece of trash....yet somehow the younger people like it, and they will even pay money to view this..... that does not surprise me anymore. Almost these entire weird movie making types of that part of the movie making industry is now dominated by all the LBGTQ beings/types or what ever they call themselves nowadays. Many of us enjoy a truly great horror flick that has been made by the best in that world, and this bunch that made this "Benny" movie should be run out of the business altogether!...this movie is an insult and a slap in the face to a good Horror classic.

Not the worst thing in the world but certainly flawed. I get the feeling the writer/director took a lot of cues from the Cornetto trilogy and Spaced, which are right up my alley, but couldn't quite execute them properly. The acting got pretty bad at times but that isn't necessarily enough to ruin a movie of this genre. The effects were....fine, taking into account the low budget, but also remember a cgi stuffed animal isn't exactly mind-blowing in this day and age. Some may get a kick out of this, but all the 10/10's? If you genuinely believe this is a perfect movie I feel sorry for you.

REVIEW - BENNY LOVES YOU British made film for you here which is just simply insane but insane in a good way. A loser decides to turn his life around and following the advice of a self help cassette tape (remember those?) throws away his teddy called Benny. Now apparently something that you have loved for many years can absorb the love so when you get older and throw it away it can come to life, in this case killing anyone who gets too close to his owner. Love this film for the sheer sillyness of the story, the special FX but most of all, well see how many other films you spot during the film. An insane hoot of a film to waste your time on, especially at the moment when there isn't much else being released. Rating 6 out of 10.

A fun, off-beat comedy horror. It felt like a very well made amature film but it also had vision, you could tell this was being made by people who knew exactly what they wanted to do. The contemporary Britishness did make it feel more unique than perhaps it was and it clearly borrowed much from all across the established horror genre. The animation and CGI was really impressive, maybe this is where they blew the budget but it honestly wouldn't be out of place in a Hollywood blockbuster - I'm really not joking. Overall, despite its apparent bizarre concept and general unserious appearance, this film has a clear and coherent story and cast of characters; it's a good length and easy to watch (except for some of the over the top gore!).
