I'm really not sure why it's called Benchwarmers 2 because there is virtually none of the original cast. Also when watching this movie put away all logic because it doesn't make since. It is one of those movies that's so bad it's funny, and I think they embraced it. Do not take this movie seriously at all and you can have a good time wasting a few hours.

Good watch, would watch again, and can recommend.
It is very interesting how they twisted the original formula for this. Instead of being focused on kids being saved by money as a result of nerds controlling the world, we're into a previously famous jock turned lawyer that has softball as a distraction from his job.
A lot of the similarities are there, but instead of focusing on 3 goofs, we have Chris Klein and Chelsey Twist in the mist of their sexual tension. Honestly, it would have been really nice if the kids were more involved.
While the overall quality of the movie is better this time, I do find it harder to get behind the motivations of the characters this time though. At least there's some laughs.

It's a easy hilarious watch.
Chris Kline plays the straight man in the comedy so well.
It's goofy and well directed.
Honestly it's better than the first and most of the crap that is put out.

After watching this, I also felt a hit to the nuts. A hit to the nuts for even choosing to watch this film.

Jon Lovitz revives his character Mel for Benchwarmers 2. Ben (Chris Klein) a promising ballplayer gets hit in the cup which ends his career and begins the juvenile humor and subtitle. Getting a law degree, he ends up playing for Lovitz's team with a colorful cast of badly scripted characters. The film had potential and some a couple of good one-liners, but no great running jokes.
Guide: No f-words. Implied sex. No nudity. The nobility of futility.

The title itself should give you a big hint as to what you are about to let yourself in for. The sequel that no-one asked for a we really didn't deserve. But I will be positive as people put time and effort into making this. It reminded me very much of the 80s and 90s films about sports that had a misfit bunch of characters, Necessary Roughness and The Replacements spring to mind. It is good to see Chris Klein back in a film role, though he still has the same expressions as Oz from American Pie and Chelsey Reist throws herself full pelt into the role and teeters between sensible and scary!
I'll be honest, unless you're a huge softball fan or Jon Lovitz fan, or Chris Klein fan or Chelsey Reist fan or you really enjoy films that are bad they're bad, then give this a curve ball, but if you enjoy any of the above, then why not give it a go, just don't blame me.
A seven innings loss for this one, with one of the innings being won by Chelsey Reist and another purely for reminding me of The Replacements, which I may go and watch now.

We had to shut it off, it is waste of time unwatchable. Poorly written, acted, edited, photographed. It's really sad that nobody stopped it from being made.
