I've been a fan of the DC animated films since they began. I thought they were better skilled at adapting their stories than Marvel was (while Marvel was better adapting their stories to the Silver Screen than DC was) but, lately, I haven't been too impressed. The films haven't been overtly bad…just not as memorable. "Batman vs. Robin" adapts the "Court of Owls" story arc well enough, I really enjoyed the development it is showing Damian Wayne, and the voice acting is, not surprisingly, absolutely fantastic—hearing Kevin Conroy return to voice big daddy Thomas Wayne and having "Weird Al" as The Dollmaker was very cool and worked extremely effectively. The only issues I had was the story feels too rushed and compact, the action is just serviceable and not very memorable, and the character design is pretty bland (but this has been an issue with DC for some time). Too often, a series of characters will all look the same (like their body build) and are only really unique in the form of hair style and eye color. However, even with these issues, "Batman vs. Robin" is a serviceable animated Direct-to-DVD feature and works pretty decently in the shared animated universe. The film is entertaining and I enjoyed it in the moment but it just wasn't as memorable as other films DC has done in the world of animation.

When I first heard about the title of the movie I was actually very excited to watch it but boy I was wrong. First of all work on the title because this movie shouldn't be called Batman VS. Robin because they don't even fight each at all in the movie. It was just mostly Damian being a stupid brat to his father in the movie and on top of that his voice actor doesn't help matters because he just annoying to the point where they should recast him. Same problem as with Son of Batman Nightwing was just week in this movie to the point where he couldn't hold his own against Damian. But other than that the voice acting was good but the story was just twisted.

DC Comics and Warner Bros. Animation bring fans of the Dark Knight his latest adventure "Batman vs. Robin." Writer J. M. DeMatteis does an incredible job blending together Grant Morrison's "Batman & Robin: Batman vs. Robin" and Scott Snyder's "Batman: The Court of Owls" graphic novels into one action-packed thrill ride through the darkness of Gotham City. It doesn't hurt that the ever angry and charismatic Damien Wayne and his strained relationship with his father Bruce are parts of the main focus of the story. In "Batman vs. Robin," Damian Wayne has a hard time accepting his father's no-killing rule. He soon starts to believe his destiny lies within a secret society. The Son of Batman finds himself the target of a vigilante calling himself Talon. The mysterious man wants Damian to take his place as the lead assassin of the enigmatic Court of Owls. I loved the way filmmakers incorporated parts of "Damien: Son of Batman" into "Batman vs. Robin." There's a small "dream" (or "nightmare?") sequence where Batman finds himself face to face with a grown-up Damien who dresses in a new version of the cape and cowl. A touching showdown between the two ensues which addresses the Dark Knight's insecurities about the way he's raising his offspring. "Batman vs. Robin" is rated PG-13 for intense action and violence, suggestive images and thematic elements. There are some instances where dark silhouettes cover up * bodies in the context of insinuated adult situations. For all intents and purposes, think of "Batman vs. Robin" as having the same content as "The Dark Knight Rises," but as a cartoon. "Batman vs. Robin" is a worthy follow-up to "Son of Batman." I love the character of Damian Wayne and feel there's a lot more they could do with the character in further animated features. Might I suggest an animated adaptation of the "Damien: Son of Batman" graphic novel? The explosive relationship between Bruce and Damien is something that will not only find teens being able to associate with it, but fathers who struggle with their rebellious and independent-minded sons as well.

I must say that i was a little bit skeptical before watching this one. "Batman vs Robin" is a Sequel to the 2014 DC animated movie "Son of Batman" and while i definitely enjoyed watching that one i didn't really think it was good. The sequel is also based on parts of the comic book " Court of Owls" from the "Night of the Owls" Storyline and as someone who read the comic i must say that it combines those two stories pretty good. The biggest difference to the source material is Damian who, once again, seems more to be the protagonist rather than his father. So the writers realized that it would be better to make him more likable than in the first movie where he was basically an almost unbearable prick. But here he's a little more like an actual child and it works for the most part especially when Bruce tries to build a relationship with him. Their scenes together are the best in the movie along with the good action which extremely profits from the great animation. The writing, in general is pretty decent and the voice actors do a great job portraying these characters especially Jason O'Mara who is probably my second favorite Batman by now, after Kevin Conroy of course. I won't spoil it, but i want to mention that i really like the ending of this movie. It's not written in a way that this type of story normally ends with and it's also a bit emotional showing that Bruce and Damian really care for each other. It also leaves a bit open ended to set up a sequel which i normally don't really like that much but i'm okay with it here because i'd like to see another movie from this series especially when the third one improves as much on the second one as this one did on the first. Because then we probably could talk about the best animated Batman movie up to this point.

Best animated DC movie. Excellent animation, story, character development, dialogues, action and also bad-ass moments of batman. Also nice development of the villain. The story is continued from the prequel "Son of Batman".The motivations of almost every character is explained and story is paced well.

I am going to be completely honest. Besides from Batman: The animated series, i have never seen any of the animated Batman movies. I saw all the live action ones but the animated ones just never seemed important to me. I decided to watch Batman vs Robin with high hopes and at times it is absolutely as enjoyable as i expected, but it was never as good as i would have liked. First of all the title is misleading. There is a fight scene between Batman and Robin which for the most part is entertaining but that is the only real conflict we get because at heart this is a father and son movie where they have a slight clash.. Batman vs Robin isn't really how it feels but i suppose calling it Batman & Robin was off the cards because well.. lets leave that in the past. Anyway the plot centres around Bruce Wayne's son Damian and is supposedly a follow up to Son of Batman but like i said i never watched it. What i like most about Batman vs Robin is it is based off of The court of Owls graphic novel which i love. But it never quite tells the story as well.. come to think of this the film could have taken the same name. Anyway as i said Damian Wayne AKA Robin is sick of being a sidekick to Batman and his no killing policy so joins the Court of Owls.. Batman rescues him and not much more happens really.. the fight at the end was cool and everything featuring Nightwing in the mix of heroes but it just sort of happens.. same with the title fight between Batman and Robin. Also the reveal of the villain was kinda obvious now i think of it. This isn't a bad movie, but it could have been made better That being said the animation is great and the fight scenes and action scenes we get are supremely enjoyable. I didn't care much for the voice acting either. The voice actor for Robin came across as annoying and Batman didn't sound an awful lot like Batman.. however i don't know if the other movies are the same and i got used to it pretty quickly. Although probably my biggest gripe is the fact i was hyped to see Weird Al Yankovich was voicing the Dollmaker and he was awesome in the time he got.. but he wasn't the main villain which disappointed me and he had all of 5 minutes screen time at the beginning and is never heard from again.. what a disappointment. Although the antagonist Talon who takes Robin under his wing was awesome and probably my favourite character. in the end i was a little disappointed and feel cheated by the title.. but Batman vs Robin still entertains and as a fan of Batman i say it is worth a watch. Just don't expect a masterpiece. I heard Under the Red Hood was great so I'm eager to check that out.. maybe it will be the masterpiece i am looking for.
