In these times of enlightened sexual politics, Ted Davis is a scoring machine. He's got the rap, the charm and his little black book weighs several pounds. Ted has become a guru to his buddies who can only aspire in awe to his greatness. This is a man's man, a ladies man, a super-hero: He's Ted Davis: "BachelorMan" When the woman of his dreams, "Heather" moves in next door, Ted's ordeal begins. She's beautiful, long-legged, athletic and LOUD. Her constant groans and howls of amorous pleasure turn Ted's domain of conquest and libidinous triumph into a nightmare world of BachelorMan-Interruptus. So the hunt begins as Ted delivers a first round of come-ons and invitations for his object of desire to become entangled, but nothing works. When all seems hopeless, Ted gets some guidance from his good friend Meg that turns the situation around: "Don't scam on her, listen to her, be SINCERE." Of course! Ted runs next door to attest his true feelings for the only woman he could ever love - and sure enough - it works! They fall passionately into each other's arms. Realizing that in this love-induced haze, he's been tricked into turning his life upside-down, Ted breaks it off with Heather to again pursue his destiny as "BachelorMan." But something is very wrong in single and looking land. Ted can't turn the ladies heads like he used to - none of the scams work. He's lost his super powers, and it will take all of BachelorMan's skill and cunning to get his Lois Lane back.

I have to start by saying this looks like a soft * film: the photography, the actors' faces, the actors' playing. The actresses are all ugly and old. The film is cheap and clumsy and it has low production values. But... This impression fades out by minute 3, when you have already laughed more than you laughed in the entire Adam Sandler filmography. If you ignore the fact that it looks like a film school license movie, you realize it's one of the funniest movies in years. More gags and jokes per minute than a Mel Brooks film. All in all, excellent writing and humor. And I've just found out here, on the IMDb, the main actor is Dom DeLuise's son. Well, it's hard to be as funny as Dom DeLuise, especially when you look like you only act in Richard Grieco movies... still eventually you get to like this guy and admit he's funny as hell.

Ted (David DeLuise) is a television executive who finds and promotes offbeat programs. Away from his job, he is such a confirmed "unmarried" gentleman that he has developed a super-hero type persona among his circle of friends. That is, he is "Bachelor Man", one who conquers any available woman with his pick-up lines, charm, good looks, and psychological assessments. As of late, nevertheless, the beautiful woman who resides in the apartment next door, Heather (Missy Pyle) has been putting a crimp in his style. It seems she has as many romantic encounters as he does and her exclamations of ecstasy reverberate through the walls, chasing Ted's dates away, due to lack of privacy. But, no matter what Ted does, Heather doesn't seem to give him the time of day. Naturally, Ted sees this as the ultimate challenge and he becomes obsessed with taking Heather out on a date, so much so that even his work begins to suffer. Lo and behold, Ted starts to make some progress in his pursuit and a few secrets come to light as well. First, Heather may not be getting all of the "action" it seems she is and, more importantly, she may have been recently jilted, accounting for her cold attitude toward love. Then, too, Ted is surprised to actually find himself "falling" for her beauty and personality. Are his bachelor man days about to end? This is quite a funny film but very adult in nature, making it unsuitable for the under 18 crowd. The cast is wonderful, with DeLuise a total delight. Why hasn't he surfaced in other films and television shows? He is one good looking and comical performer. Pyle, too, is great as the woman with brains and beauty and the lesser cast members, especially the couple playing Ted's parents, are also very entertaining. Although the production was probably one with a lesser budget, the costumes, sets and camera work are quite acceptable while the direction is lively and the script is extremely inventive and humorous. As such, betcha Bachelor Man will make you laugh. Why not give it whirl next time you visit the usual DVD providers?

This is one of those random movies that you have never heard of but you decide to give it a whirl and you regret every freaking minute of it. What truly blows my mind is the first review that raved about how amazing this film was and scored it a perfect ten. My reviewing process is a little more intensive than that and this one goes into my worst films category hands down. The entire plot it stupid, the acting borders on disgustingly horrible, and the jokes are drop dead boring. Its just the kind of comedy that when a joke or gag happens instead of laughter it exudes a groan of disgust. The film might have worked a little better if you could actually believe the lead character as a womanizer but the guy is a doofus right from the moment the movie starts. I think the film makers were trying to incorporate some style to the film but it falls face first but as with any comedy there were likely some moments that I chuckled at despite myself but I promise I felt guilty about it. David DeLuise has been in comedic acting, mostly Television for a very long time. This entry into being a lead actor in a film for adults doesn't do anything for his career. Yes he is cocky and has some personality for his character but he just looks like an absolute joke and you can't buy his womanizing status. He should stick to light fluffy kid's comedy. Missi Pyle has also been around a long time and I've always though of her as kind of obnoxious and homely and yet here she is trying to be a sexy, girl of the womanizers dreams and it just isn't believable. Whoever cast these two made a terrible mistake given the tone of the film and what they were trying to accomplish. Honestly there is no reason to discuss the rest of the cast because whether or not they could potentially give good performances matters little to nothing because of how terrible the entire film truly is and the casting of the lead characters is ridiculous. Pyle and DeLuise have virtually no chemistry and just look silly together. Director John Putch is kind of in the same vote as both Pyle and DeLuise, he has been around a long time both as a director (27 years) and as an actor since early Disney films in 1973. But in going through some of his directorial films I see a pattern. The disgustingly horrible TV remake of The Poseidon Adventure, a host of sub par TV series (and yes I'm including Scrubs in that since I've always found that show to be horribly awful.) I'm beginning to think that Putch is a lost cause and has a radar for terrible comedy. Now he's decided to sink his teeth into the recent long line of straight to video American Pie films...that should be awesome!! (sarcasm intended) While I do slap Bachelorman with a solid 3 and nothing lower I think it's just because I did manage to sit through it and it wasn't completely painful but I do it all for you...the viewer...stay clear of this stinker, there is nothing redeemable about it. 3/10

At first I thought this was going to be a romantic comedy, or maybe a sexy kind of chasing around film. Instead, there were moms with vibrators, old ladies in diapers being stripped down, a moose that shits aphrodisiac candy, a baby that tries to crawl INTO it's mom, tons of blow jobs, a giant * and tons of guys and girls getting laid. It's about time. I laughed for 90 minutes. David DeLuise is the perfect BachelorMan. There is no downtime in this movie, except for the three or four scenes where he comes up from under the covers to take a breath. Viva BachelorMan

I saw this at the Schweitzer Lakedance Film Festival in Sandpoint in 2006 and it was very funny. The whole crowd (it was on a Friday Night) laughed and enjoyed it. The Bachelorman is a light crazy sometimes-hip sex comedy that is often over-the-top and sometimes predictable... but so what? Its fun to watch, and thats all that counts. As for someone who could possibly give this film, or ANY film a one star out of ten? I mean take a step back for a second. I've seen some TERRIBLE films, but I've never seen a 1 star film. Generally, the worse it gets the more you can appreciate the camp value. I just heard this got picked up for distribution and I'm really happy. People who want some simple fun adult comedy should pick this up!

David Deluise stars as (Ted Davis) a businessman who is the man when it comes to the dating game, conquerer of many women and many uses of extremely cheesy pick up lines he looses his mojo. Ted finds himself wanting to settle down but no one will take him. In search of a new start he falls for his next door neighbour who is a phone sex girl. Bachelorman didn't appeal to me I am not like that with women and I can rarely find humour in guys that are like that, I don't believe thats the way women should be treated. If this was suppose to be a comedy it wasn't very well done.

BachelorMan is a must see film! Extremely well written with laughs from the first five minutes of the movie all the way through to the end. David Deluise is absolutely fabulous as the oh so charming and invincible "BachelorMan". He easily handles the comedy of the film, and just as easily sinks his talents into the touching and gentle moments that show his amazing versatility as an actor. Ladies, you can't help but fall in love with him! His "BachelorWoman" challenger, Missy Pyle, is just as charming, and talented as her counterpart, and together, they create an invincible duo. Missy captures the audience with strength, humor and delightful warmth. And of course the entire cast adds the finishing touch to create a delightful witty comedy! This is definitely a date movie of the highest caliber! Director, John Putch, is a brilliant director. He is extremely detailed, and precise with his films, from the care he takes in nurturing his actors, to the camera angles, to the editing, the animation and the music, he make the whole film come together superbly. The audience, myself included, laughed from the first scene, straight through to the end, until my sides hurt. There hasn't been a good tummy tickler like this, out there for a long time, and it was refreshing to laugh so hard! And if that's not enough, just when ya think it's over....ya laugh while the credits roll as well! If you are wondering who to take to BachelorMan, I'd say anyone and everyone. The audience at this particular screening ranged from late teens to seniors and everyone there had huge smiles on their faces as they left the theater. Hollywood needs more charming, uplifting comedies like this one! Run don't walk to the nearest theater and catch "BachelorMan." This definitely gets "TWO THUMBS UP" and then some!

`Bachelorman' is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time. In most movies you're happy if you get three or four big laughs, but `Bachelorman' delivers big laughs all the way through. David DeLuise steals the show as the horny bachelor with a real sex life that is even better than his fantasy life (which they show using hilarious computer animation). Then when he falls in love with his neighbor played by Missi Pyle he feels like he loses his superpowers, and his equally horny friends have to help him get them back. Funny, funny, funny.
