I saw this movie because I like Asterix and Obelix and I like movies, So I thought this movie will be nice, but actually not.I already knew the comics are better because Asterix is a typical story for comics.But I can't give less than 6/10 because the characters are really like the comic.Roberto Begnini is also a great actor en shows that in this movie.I didn't laugh during this movie because the jokes are too bad.But what I liked during this movies were the resemblances between the comic and this movie.Roberto is not only a great actor he speaks also french very well.The most French movies have good humor with funny moments but this movie is actually boring.In general I don't like comedies.Obelix walking with the stone is also pretty good.Many things were good made and thats the reason why I give 6/10.Actually I didn't expect a nice movie before I watch this movie.The next time I will not watch movies of Asterix and Obelix.

...wouldn't it have made more sense to cast him with a little person actor? Couldn't be that hard to find a little person who looks kind of like Asterix and can act. He's just like 3 times taller than he's supposed to be. I didn't lower my stars because of that or anything I just found this show not very entertaining. And the fight scenes could have used some touching up with computer to make them seem more comically Asterix-like.

i like this movie because it is very entertaining. especially because i also love the comic. it's fun to see all the characters become alive. this is the kind of movie to watch if you want to enjoy a movie without being too emotionally attached.

I have watched the movie in danish, and i love seeing asterix and obelix like this, with real actors. I hope we will see more movies like this, they are definitely worth buying. This movie manage to be ridiculous and serious at the same time, without the need to ruin the movie with nonsense (like in one of the cartoons), or the new asterix movie where they directly put a black scene "this scene is to violent to be shown" instead of a fighting scene, not only dose it interrupt the movie with nonsense, but it also reminds us thats its only a movie at a most annoying place in the movie.

This film is formidable, and who makes the movie so great is Christian Clavier: without this lovely actor "Asterix et Obelix contre Cesar" would not be so beautiful. Mr Clavier let the spectator feel so many emotions! Don't miss this film: it's a precious chance to admire the splendid performance of a charming actor: Christian Clavier!!!

This movie may be the worst I have ever seen. As a fan of the cartoon I was expecting a lot... and I have been very disappointed. This movie is so poor that it has nothing in common with the cartoon stories. A movie to avoid in all cases.

OK, like many fans of the comic book series, I too was thrilled when a movie was being made. Then I saw it....should of stuck to the comic books. The movie is STUPID...the cast are buffoons and it looks Like Gerard Depardieu was half asleep while playing Obelix. Asterix is supposed to be bright, intelligent and cunning. The person who portrays him does so that Obelix looks the smart one. SOME of the characters are just like in the comics...but the plot is just that, comic like. Its like there was no imagination put into it. This film is major turkey not even palatable for thanksgiving...do yourself a favor folks...Don't RENT THIS FILM...save your money...you'll be glad you did.

I have seen this movie (I didn't want but they forced me) yesterday and I won't be able to recover some confidence in French movies for a very very long time. It really was the most awful and boring movie i have ever seen (although i have seen all the "Rambo" series). When i think that this is the most expensive French film ever made, i realize that they have a little problem in this country. In all this stuff, just one thing make me sad : Why Roberto Benigni, the great Benigni figured in this movie. I still don't understand. Anyway, what i know is that i have lost 1 hour and 40 minutes of my life for this movie, that is enough: PLEASE... DON'T GO TO SEE IT!!!
