Hitman Redemption (Asher): Asher (Ron Perlman) is a hitman, good at his job but getting old, some of the more lucrative jobs are being assigned elsewhere by his booking agent. His health isn't the best either, he passes out in a corridor when he's after a target. Through this serendipity he meets Sophie (Famke Janssen) and a romance results. Sophie also has her travails, she cares for her dementia stricken mother. Nothing runs smoothly as the assassin profession becomes ridden with infighting. (Jacqueline Bisset). Good thriller, reminiscent of 1970s hitman/paranoia films. Nice touches by Perlman as he carries an umbrella to keep himself dry when he sets off fire alarm sprinklers to bring his victims to their apartment doors. A poignant love story as well, with quite a few violent scenes though. 8/10. On Netflix.

It's not your atypical hitman movie. Never really reaches a climax and has a lovely relaxed score, but that's ok. The performances are great. Perlman and Janssen work well together. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. If you want a hard hitting action movie then this movie isn't for you. It's slow, the score is slow, the deliverance is slow and the film is long (not too long), but that's fine. If you want to unwind to a nice story, good acting, with breathing space then this movie will do just fine.

An aging actor's last job goes sideways, forcing him to redeem himself... It's really sad to watch actors like Ron Perlman, Famke Janssen and Jacqueline Bisset in such a rather subpar movie. And that's already the best and a little redeeming feature - Asher got some decent actors, the rest, especially the story, is rather on the weak side. Sadly, disappointing.

Predictable movie with bad performances from the main actors.

Just Watched this on Netflix really enjoyed Pearlmans performance as Asha good solid performances from supporting actors too, storyline good also and well directed, would recommend 6 out of 10.

Here's The Lowedown on "Asher" (R - 2018 - US)...There's things you don't know. Genre: Thriller/Crime My Score: 5.6 Cast=7 Acting=5 Plot=5 Ending=7 Story=6 Intense=6 Pace=2 Suspense=5 Crime=7 Twist=6 An aging hitman's last job goes sideways, forcing him to redeem himself. A new person in his life changes his view on his own. "I just killed a man in the bathroom and I'm afraid if we don't leave right now they're gonna call the cops." There was some good stuff in this...a surprising cast with Hellboy and Jean Grey at the lead. I liked Asher's method...the rest of the movie was just meh. The biggest issue was the movie was like a turtle going backward. to quote Dodgeball, "I got better runs in my shorts." It's not a horrible watch...trouble is that it's not a good watch, either.

I shan't bother with any plot. I don't understand the bad reviews here. Sometimes doing and saying nothing says a lot and is the most skilled acting. Some reviewers need to understand this. This is a well put together film, not heavy in action (odd why anyone thought it would be) but concentrates on characters. The film exudes an indie feel to it and Ron Perlman is outstanding. Truly outstanding.

The story was average , I think it was more drama than action, and it was too slow to death and that made me took a nap while I was watching. the music was very awful. the acting was ok . so my advice is , skip it for something better. 3/10

Aging hit man Ron Perlman wants out. Good looking, by-the-numbers noir with a solid cast and ambiguous ending. Good performances from Perlman, Richard Dreyfuss, and Famke Jenssen.
