Maybe the worst acting in the history of man kind only overshadowed by worse directing. If you got some paint thinner you're better off taking a sip from that. Cringe from start until the very very cringe end, it's just a strange and weird journey through the mind that's definitely had too many mushrooms. That it made to a streaming service is a feat in it self and that's the 1 star. I mean you really really should find some alternative to this junk. Literally anything will do, trust me on this. This is one of the rare cases that i didn't understand from the start how good this movie is. I mean, if someone has watched thousands of movies, it's easy to understand from the beginning of a movie if it's good or bad (For them). During the first 20 minutes, i was kinda sure this is a bad movie. Characters were unlikeable or uninteresting or both, the interactions between them were awkward and not natural. And the antagonist was ridiculous. So, it was surprising for me the fact that it starts becoming better and better. Something changed after the first 20 minutes. Now i realise that it was intentional. The first 15-20 minutes were intentionally like that. Because some specific changes should be signaled. Changes in the mood of the characters, changes in their bodies and souls. This was an emotional journey. The characters should transcend themselves in order to became something else. Or at least, they should try it. The actors did a good job. I am glad i see again Borges (from tv show YOU'RE THE WORST) and Hampshire (from the tv show 12 MONKEYS). And the best part of this movie is the ending. I feel the need to congratulate the writer, the ending is amazing. At last, something positive and dare i say, wise. So many trash movies nowadays carry mixed messages, pessimist messages, doom and gloom, whereas their creators claim they are positive and empowering. No. This is TRUE EMPOWERMENT. I have no words to describe the power and the wisdom of the final scene, the one with the cradle. You don't need to be a philosopher or a genious to understand what this scene symbolizes. I can't rate it higher because it took so much time to like it. I realise this introduction was necessary but still, my 8's ,9's and 10's are for movies i love from the start. In any case, i recommend this to everyone. It's a breathe of fresh air. A good art/fantasy horror movie. As you can understand, this is not a pure horror movie, it won't scare you, this is not mindless fun. It does something better. Watch it to learn what this is.

I recently watched Appendage (2023) on Hulu. The story revolves around a fashion designer who faces a looming deadline, navigates a budding relationship due to her best friend's intervention, and grapples with inner demons. These inner demons take a unique and potentially life-altering form within her. This movie is written and directed by Anna Zlokovic, in her directorial debut, and stars Hadley Robinson (Little Women), Emily Hampshire (Schitt's Creek), Kausar Mohammed (Monster High) and Brandon Smith (Get on Up). The storyline exceeded my expectations. Initially, it might give off a "Bad Milo" vibe, but as the plot unfolds, it reveals a unique and deeper narrative. The special effects are better than anticipated, and the acting, though some characters are annoying, remains solid. The plot takes unexpected turns with good twists and worthwhile subplots. The film concludes with a compelling fight/action sequence and a satisfying resolution. In conclusion, Appendage is a fun and distinctive addition to the horror genre that's a must-watch for horror enthusiasts. I would rate this a solid 6.5-7/10 and strongly recommend it.

Hahahaha oh deary me!! OK about 12minutes in, I burst out laughing.. then for the next 40, I realised I was seriously feeling putting off and nauseas at the thought of cooking and eating the omelette I was supposed to have for tea because of This Film lol.. it induced my anxiety and came across as a bad attempted indie film which is a shame because there could've been something there. Yes it's not nothing new in ideas. But the camera quality was good and the lead actress was really good ( she was too good for this film though) she kinda reminded me of a Drew Barrymore looks and speech. The problem with this film was the pacing of the movie was very choppy, not enough action, nor any good sound effects or music score, which all left the movie feeling flat and you deflated with its progress. I always much prefer practical effects over cgi and it some parts they were fine but others ( The thing!! Bahahahahahahahaha !! Aww stop) I just couldn't take it seriously lol I've give it a generous 4 because I liked the actress and there could've been a story with potential if it maybe had had some1 else behind the making writing. But without I was really left feeling crummy and like I wish I hadn't been scooped in by the reviews here.

Appendage is a movie about mental illness and how it eats you up from the inside. It features Hannah who is a fashion designer and one day some sort of creature grows out of her stomach. This little appendage curses at her and tells her that she is useless and has no talent. It also tells her that her new boyfriend and her best friend are in love and that she should be worried. After a while she meets up with a support group with people that also have an appendage and one woman seems especially interested in her. I have to say usually these movies are not really my kind and so I went in with low expectations but as soon as the appendage appeared I was hooked in and the movie was able to entertain and gross out with some well-made body horror. Even though we have seen similar movies this one manages to still be unique and tell an interesting story about our main character. It builds up empathy for her and makes you question the relationship between her best friend and her boyfriend. Also the third act is where the movie becomes serious and opens up lots of opportunities for this whole thing to be bigger than it first seems. I think it is a decent watch and if the premise sounds interesting to you you should give it a try. [5,6/10]

This movie will impact people that have experienced child trauma or abuse and are left with the nasty demon stuck in their head. Those who do the work and get therapy learn the bpd or anxiety or depression issues are there from bad parents or childhood. This film is an allegory about how if you feed the gremlin in your head it will grow and grow (by allowing negative self talk and ignoring your past). It's really effective and has a good message. It's also a horror movie (kind of). I enjoyed it, not just for the allegory and how it impacted me but also because all the actors did a fantastic job. I've spent a year in therapy and a few more trying to kill my gremlin, and just like this movie it's not easy!!! 6.6/10.

For me who suffers from Depression, it makes sense. I often say it's your brain fighting against you. And feeling worthless and not trusting people, feeling they don't care. Is how i felt So I get that, and yes it's a voice in your head and if you look in the mirror it could be like your clone, and you feel drained and weak and tired. And Yes you don't want to admit you have a issue, and are the best in the world at hiding it from other people But I don't get what was true in that film, and why cut it off so quick, explain to the viewer who maybe has never suffered from depression, or self esteem issues, what the film was about. You could have had a scene with a doctor who explains to her and the viewer what the mind can do to a depressed person. Cause it's a illness you can't see, so unless you have it you can't "Live It" This film tried to approach it in a different way, but then tripped up on it's own feet in the final few scenes.
