Just watched this movie last night. I thought Billy Crystal was wonderful as Ben Sobol. Robert De Niro as Paul Vitti was very good. It was worth looking at the movie just to see the scene when Billy Crystal pretends to be a gangster--I could not stop laughing. Recommend this movie to any one who wants a good laugh

I enjoy this one overall, it's (of course) a spoof on all things Goodfellahs/Godfather, w/ DeNiro really goofing on himself thruout. He does quite a good job. Billy Crystal is about as good here as ever-sometimes it lapses into his schtick but I enjoy him as the beleaguered uptight shrink here more so than in other things. Neat parts are the familiar faces from Casino, Goodfellahs and Godfather(see if you know whom I mean), Jelly, and the Tony Bennett cameo. Weak parts? Well-the ending is kinda tacked on, the crying stuff of DeNiro's is poo-poo, and you get the idea that much of Lisa Kudrow's, the father in law and Bill Macy's parts were pretty well left on the cutting room floor. Ditto that of the FBI, too. But it's quite enjoyable, funny, and worth it if you don't take it seriously or expect a 'Great' comedy. It's a Good comedy, def. one that never needed sequel, either. *** outta **** or so.

Analyze This I think lives up to expectations, it is a very funny pairing of two stars you wouldn't necessarily think would go together. The premise (a shrink's life is turned upside down when he starts treating a mobster) was very fresh and interesting. Billy Crystal spends most of the movie as a somewhat subdued version of his frantic self (until the end of the movie) and leaves most of the laughs to Bobby DeNiro and his funny mafia crew (including a hilarious Joe Viterelli as JellY who reminded me of a hulking Lou Costello). Also getting some good laughs are Lisa Kudrow (she is really becoming one of my favorite actors) and Molly Shannon who has a brief part. It is essentially Bobby DeNiro acting like one of the many gangster characters he has played before except this time for some serious laughs. All in all a good movie, I just hope they don't try to push their luck with an "Analyze This Too" or some other sequel. But you never know.

Completely hilarious. Billy Crystal is very funny in the role of Ben Sobel. And Robert De Niro is Robert De Niro. One of the best actors of the cinema history. He is so hilarious when he cries... a little baby. I laugh all the time in the cinema and I don't do it since a long time... Joe Viterelli is also good in his role. He have the look of the mobster. In conclusion, if you want to see a good comedy and if you want to laugh, go for it. I you want to cry, stay at home to see another movie. 8 out of 10

Analyze this is an easy going feel good movie that makes light of what would otherwise be tense situations. Unlike the iconic and serious Mafia films De Niro has acted in he plays a comical Mafia figure. He is matched by the hilarious Billy Crystal. Viewers can never take this film too seriously and can sit back and relax this easy to understand film. It is a fun and now and then humorous film. It shouldn't disappoint but will probably not exceed any high expectations.

Garbo laughs was the tagline for Ninotchka and the tagline for Analyze This should be De Niro cries. The material is handled deftly so that it never seems harsh and yet it never seems frivolous, it just seems funny. Comedy is about making people laugh and that is just what this film did for me.

I really and truly enjoyed this movie very much. I think DeNiro really showed us all how versatile an actor he really is. The only real problem I had with this movie was there were so many trailers and commercials on it, combined with friends who saw it before I did.. It was like I was seeing it a second time during my first viewing. Even with its overexposure I really enjoyed it.

This is a movie you should go see if you like a good laugh. Although the language is strong, my wife and I laughed for almost the entire movie. De Niro is the best. It helps if you've seen a few gangster movies to get a few of the subtle points, but it's great in any case.
