Ted knows he's not a zombie. He just picked up a "skin thing" on his vacay in The Caribbean. But his hilariously kooky family is not convinced, especially after he brings home a hot vampire he met in group therapy.

Well, the concept idea behind the 2017 movie "An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)" definitely was interesting enough, just a shame that the movie itself flopped as much as it did. When I sat down in 2021 to watch "An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)", I hadn't even heard about it, and I didn't know what it was about. But given the movie's title, then I assumed that I was in for a zombie movie. And as the movie started and I saw Kane Hodder was in it, I must admit that I was sort of thrilled. But Kane Hodder wasn't in the movie for a long time actually, and he only did so little to lift up the movie. The storyline told in "An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)" was boring and bland. Nothing much of any interest happened throughout the course of the entire movie, which made the movie feel a lot longer than it actually was. And with it being so mundane, it was not a great movie experience. The characters in the movie were semi-adequate. I mean, some of the characters had appeal and could be interesting, while others felt like mere fillers in the background to populate the movie on the screen. The acting performances, were for the most parts adequate enough. This isn't award-winning performances though. I wasn't particularly entertained by what writer and director Anne Welles managed to do with this 2017 movie. I am rating "An Accidental Zombie (Named Ted)" a mere three out of ten movies. It wasn't a zombie movie in the traditional zombie movie manner, and the movie just fell short of being entertaining.

I enjoyed this film a lot. No offence to projects like Warm Bodies but I'm not the biggest fan of zombie stuff let alone zombie comedies. Mainly because half the time they never seem to know what they were or are trying to be. This film gets it perfectly. In fact, it sorta reminded me of those great old school 80's or 90's films that understood how silly they were and yet still came at the comedy very intelligently. This one was fun and executed very well.

Didn't expect this movie to be as fun as it was. It has a good pace, and performances. Enjoyed it the whole way through.

Not hilarious, but a few grins. Has a short film feel, need to watch through the credits. Acting was good, directing not to bad, no graphics, but set's were done well. Seemed to be more improvised than polished script.

I saw this film at a festival and wasn't sure what to expect but I ended up loving it. I laughed for just about the entire movie and loved the over the top feel of the movie which made me forget my own world for a while. Overall I very much enjoyed the entire film, from the acting to the cinematography to the story, etc.

The movie was funny and quirky. The actors were definitely pros. Amazing work by the entire crew. Great set designs. Dysfunctional families are the norm in today's society but this film takes it to a whole new level. You can't help but feel bad for Ted. Romantic and hysterical wrapped together. Love wins in the end.

I'm not a zombie fan and neither are my well-read literary friends. (Secret: Most of us are close to 80.) We aren't the ones who go to zombie movies. We are librarians, journalists, teachers, travelers. BUT, to a woman, we loved this eccentric movie by Anne Welles. It made us laugh out loud for the entire length. "It's a love story!" shouted one. "No, it's got another message," said another. At other points the audience noises were more like "ooh, oomph, ugh!" Followed by laughter, of course! The actors clearly loved what they were doing, every minute--and at times you could tell they were improvising. Just what one would expect from the weird artistic sense of humor by the writer/director Anne Welles, as evidenced by her unusual script and unexpected turns in the story. Great acting, great fun. See it!! Have a Halloween party....
