Utter rubbish, unwatchable, very bad camera work, bad acting, unoriginal, boring. Lindsay Lohan has definitely dug a grave for her acting career with this movie, and with a few previous ones, but this one has cemented the grave.

Well I couldn't make any sense of this jumble of dark scenes with no coherence. I watched to the end of the movie hoping it would improve as the acting is not terrible - no such luck and it ends on a cliffhanger......

The film takes place in 2022 after the breakup of the European Union. There is now a European Federation, sometimes called the United States of Europe. Richard Sherman (Kristoffel Verdonck) is running for re-election after his appointment. That is all the introduction we get. There is no character development outside of a flashback. And as the story progresses we discover there is a world of werewolves and vampires, something they could have mentioned. Richard Sherman is a werewolf. His wife (Lindsay Lohan) is a vampire and as far as I can tell the only vampire in the film. Harry Goldstone (John Flanders), Sherman's campaign manager is killed in the first scene by a silver bullet. He was a werewolf too. His niece Kristy Wolfie (Charlotte Beckett) is a PI and on the case, unraveling a poorly constructed story. Kristy also loves her vices. We see her having sex, drinking, stealing a watch off a corpse, and eating a fat man. We have seen wolf/vampire stories before. All were done better. I am not sure why they had to create a future world. The acting wasn't there. Guide: F-word. Sex. Nudity (Charlotte Beckett or double)

Half a star! Add this movie to you "Must Miss This Hot Mess" list. Unless you just dying to see Lindsay Lohan. In that case you will be a very happy unit.

I was absolutely prepared for this movie to suck. In fact I sorta like bad movies but man this is just WOW. FIRST, let me just say Lindsey is better off in roles like Machete because First Ladies aren't her forte. Its weird that all her scenes seem to have been done in a studio somewhere. She's always in green screen and never in the same shot with anyone else. (Guess they blew the budget on that Akita) Second, we are treated to one man doing his best Shrek impersonation but as a detective. It's odd and I don't like it. He looks like he smells. Also, later there's a sex scene that was so awkward I almost excused myself and gave my phone some privacy. I'd just take my word and skip this fiasco. Good luck out there.

Of course "among the shadows" is different from other movies from the horror genre. The werewolves are not that what somebody expects from the genre, but they are still likable because they look more human and give the viewers the idea of what they could look if they really would exist. The story at all is really interesting and throws the political scene in a dark light, comparing them to monster. My favorite werewolve was Lycan, he played the beast so well that you can really become afraid of this character. And Charlotte Beckett showed really good acting! The return of Lindsay Lohan is also unique and amazing. I hope to see her in more movies in the future. At all very good horror thriller! Something new!

First I should mention that I got to see this with two friends for free - if you search in the right spot and add "Lifetime movie" to the title you will find that someone has already pirated this piece of dross onto the internet. This will never become a cult classic since it's not "awful but funny", it's just plain awful. The plot is impossible to follow, the actors are amateurish and some are downright impossible to understand, the lighting is abominable, werewolves and vampires come and go for no discernible reason, there's no continuity between scenes and . . . well I could go on but why bother. And then there's this, what is the need of a smoke machine for an interior scene? Since Lindsay Lohan is the only recognizable name in the cast(except maybe Charlotte Beckett), let's talk a bit about her performance: She delivers every line in a flat, gravely voice. Her eyes dart to the left and right as she reads her lines. I'm going to guess she blew off coming in every day after a while. In some scenes, it's obvious that they just put her in front of a green screen and spliced her in with actors who already filmed the scene without her. There are actually times when there's a body double who neither looks or sounds like Lohan reading her lines. BTW, this is not a bad thing since the anonymous person is a more convincing actress than Lohan. The only good thing is she's not in a whole lot of the film, at least for the 50 minutes or so that I managed to watch this. Now let's talk about what's good about the film, or at least what didn't repulse me, and that would be the aforementioned Charlotte Beckett. She's pretty, she looks good in black, she's a passable actress who doesn't need to read her lines off of a large piece of markerboard. That's about it. To sum it up, this will never be a cult favorite but it could be the final wooden stake in the heart of Lohan's career. On the other hand, that Saudi Arabian production of Lohan starring in an all female film about an American woman who comes to teach a harem about God knows what sounds intriguing (said no one, ever.)

Director really messed this one up, he needs to take the blame here. Awful. Only recognizable actors were Lohan and Capaldi, they got pass marks but the rest apart from new comer Beckett need to find a new profession. Story is confusing and all these characters are so not needed. What a waste of a potentially good film. Real shame. Coloring of the film and score were amateur. But again not as bad as these foreign actors and the director. Please leave the industry ...
