You know, some people do great things. They invent things that help their fellow man. They write words of sheer beauty that move people to tears or songs that people have in their weddings or teach people things that change the world. I watch Amityville movies and write about them. Such is my albatross. Stanley DeFeo has come back to Amityville and there's this whole story of his parents coming there to run a bank and his mom fell for a dude named Asmodeus because you know, it was the sixties. But now there's a cult in town and our hero is doomed. Except it's in Amityville, Texas. Let's have that sink in. Amityville. Texas. Birthright: An Amityville Horror was the original title and this cost less than a used car and has a scene where a lawyer agrees to a meeting within minutes, not months, so it's also science fiction. This is also known as Amityville Secret. So yeah. Our hero comes home -- don't do that -- reads his mother's diary -- don't do that -- tracks down his father -- don't do that -- and tries to set things right -- don't do that -- and then a bunch of hooded robed people end up on his porch, which is pretty awesome and I wish they would come over here and party with me because I'm kind of lonely tonight. At one point, a character talks about getting to dance with the devil and I thought about that and kind of wished that this movie was about a woman finding her groove in the late sixties and escaping her boring husband through Satan, but that would be probably something only I'd want to see and not something that would fool you by being a new Amityville movie on the shelves at Walmart and the digital racks of Amazon Prime and Tubi. I almost wrote, "You could have put a legit turd into my DVD case and I would have enjoyed it more," but that just seems mean.

I watched the film after having seen the budget. It's pretty good considering they made it on nothing at all really. I went into it expecting much worst considering.

Ok, so you you inherit a house in nowhere. That is actually is good shape. Then you start poking around and are noticed by the locals. All civil and like. Nice people, right? Uh huh. Then, well, all hell breaks loose. If you can put on your imagination caps and filter out the bad scripting, acting, directing, cinematography, etc. You can still get a descent nightmare out of it.

From the script and acting, it seems more of a parody than an actual attempt at horror film. Just a giant waste of time, I was more perplexed at the horrible writing, acting and direction than scared while watching this film, its imdb rating fooled me, how it managed to score above 1 is beyond me. Not much of a spoiler but there is a whole sequence of the lead protagonist walking through the town, which serves no purpose at all towards the film story, just a filler scene with no purpose and the film is full of stupidity like that.

Awesome movie! Had a moment to sit down and watch it. The characters are believable and the storyline is well written. I don't really do scary movies due to always knowing what happens before it gets to the end. This movie actually had me on the edge of my seat throughout.

Shot rather well for a lower budget film, the cast brings out a more quality on tone than many larger budget films. It's just nice to see something surprisingly worth watching from time to time.

We watched this on Tubi. Film isnt masterpiece but it has its entertaining moments. Ive seen better but Ive also seen a lot worse. Good acting and storyline.

It's a low budget movie and I don't mind watching them. There are many low budget movies that are great. This though........ The acting isn't quite there. The effects, script etc just FEELS cheap. Found their Facebook posts about their trailer. A few excited people. Going to guess they're the ones who rated this.

I have seldom come accross a movie that I feel so strongly about within the first 10 minutes...and I couldn't bring myself to watch more than that! From the outset, the acting, and by that, the direction, is appaling. The cinematography is appaling. The sound engineering is appaling. I'm always willing to give a low-budget movie a chance, but this one was wholly undeserving. I do not recommend it at all.
