Not what I expected but seeing Angelica Hale sing her heart out at the end was epic for me... A little something to just pass time on. This kind of story needed to be told... Cuz it's not always glamour, there is always more than what meets the eye.

This movie has all of my favorite things: a flawed, funny main character; a great premise; and tons of heart. Oh - and music too! The performances are great all around, and the nuanced direction gives dimension to each character. Perfect for movie night...or any night!

American Reject is a feel-good comedy following a 30-something heroine who must come to terms with failure. The film begins with her immense humiliation before all of America, immediately garnering our sympathy for her plight. Though it's clear she has some flaws, we're rooting for her to achieve her dreams (and regain some dignity). Along the way, she grows as a person, makes new friends, and learns some valuable lessons about being a person. This film caused me to laugh and cry. I would recommend American Reject to anyone looking for something both heartfelt and humorous.

Low budget movie critiquing American popular culture. Mostly light hearted humor. An easy watch to pass a lazy afternoon. We follow a washed up pop idol contestant return to her home town after shamefully losing the competition. Not bad.

I thought this movie would be funny based on the trailer but I was NOT prepared for how touching it is too! The main character, Kay, goes on quite the journey and must make amends with her past. The acting was engaging throughout and there are two songs (one by Kay, and one by Anna) that are real showstoppers! If you like reality shows, musicals and sweet, character-based comedy don't miss this one!

I love the movie, music, and message. A must see! How to turn disappointment and loss into a life giving experience is the process of transformation in action, and this film does it so beautifully. Will watch it again! Dean & HollyKem Sunseri.
