Good concept, dissapointing execution, editing, storyline & directing. It was kindof sloppy to watch. There were holes in the plot & it was allover the place with the characters & not to mention -seriously cringy cringe moments. We were mad by the end of the movie & asked ourselves why we even finished watching it.

The movie could've had promise, but it turned into an extended crazy prepper trope with offensive cultural stereotypes sprinkled on top. The protagonist family is initially oblivious, then when things go sideways, they go to their neighbor for help. For whatever reason, the antagonist who is portrayed as reprehensible let's the family in, offers them shelter & food. Not content with his management style, they stage an unlikely coup & essentially steal his shelter, but let him stay. It's nonsensical and far-fetched. Also, the cultural dynamics are used like a blunt object to pummel the viewer. Tbh, it came off as a bit racist. All of that aside, the acting was pretty bad, the prop management was horrendous, and it oozed low-budget vibes.

I don't understand why people purposely trashed this movie. It was better than I expected, and was shot professionally. Great aesthetic through acting, shots, and color grading. I'm willing to bet that most of the haters were off a particular race. Sad indeed..

Spoiler alert I guess, but this movie is already rotten so.. They made the main black dude look like an entitled, weak, cuckold. My man, who earlier was professing the virtues of a proper education, hid the gun (which he was so against using) in the dumbest place possible. Then he hatched up a plan to get his wife and kids back with a bag full of cleaning supplies along with his weird kid armed with a rubber mallet. Ready for battle, smh... So you're telling me his plan was to choke his own family with smoke and then wait until the perfect opportunity to take out the white dude (who was armed with an AR-15, mind you) with a hot skillet full of lead? And that 'plan' wouldn't have even worked if they hadn't have found the key in the bible at the opportune moment. And then they all lived happily ever after. This movie was so bananas it was almost entertaining.

This movie was decent. I bet all the hateful individuals are none blk. Please review your own movies if you felt some type of way. Individuals are always the type of characters to disregard the next talented person. Are you sure that it isn't the hate you give that makes you hate this movie. It's speaks on the realization that is happening right now or will happen. Will you love your neighbor enough to help them no matter their race? Crazy part is I have to get 609 characters in order to post this review. Let's see how many this is, still not there yet but I could have sworn others reviews were much shorter.

So I found myself dissing the movie while watching it. I kept saying to myself that it was a dumb movie. However, NOT ONCE DID I STOP WATCHING THE MOVIE. That says a lot. I believe the storyline would have been better if the guest father didn't lie twice to the bunker father. They could have come together much sooner to battle against the enemies outside of the bunker.

Disappointing. Great movie idea however poorly portrayed. Derek Luke must've needed money. A black female physician delivers and breast feeds a strange Caucasian woman's baby and the woman's father jumps in shower with the married doctor. Disgraceful. I only watched in segments to how awful the movie would be. I wasn't disappointed in it's awfulness.

This movie is not horrible but a bit lack luster and slow at moments. I'm not going to complain about the political/ racial aspect because it's a movie. And as often as POC have been cast as savages and criminals I feel no qualms with this dynamic. I could see people's issue if America's past was just.
