Initially I was intrigued by the movie's cover, and I had never actually heard about the movie prior to sitting down and watching it. I started the movie, and those two dreaded words popped up on the screen; The Asylum. Great, another attempt at a natural disaster from The Asylum, enough said actually.
The storyline in "America Is Sinking" is pretty generic, even for a natural disaster movie from The Asylum. Writers Jeremiah Crothers and Steve Doucette apparently opted to play it insanely safe and bet on every trope seen in previous natural disaster movies. And that ultimately made this movie bland, predictable and sort of forgettable. I can't claim that I was particularly entertained throughout the course of the 83 minutes that the movie ran for. The storyline was predictable and every bit as unrealistic as you would assume. And you know the outcome of the movie from the very beginning, yeah it was that kind of movie.
The cast ensemble in the movie was actually fair. I was only familiar with Michael Parรฉ, Paul Logan and Lindsey Marie Wilson. I wonder if actors Michael Parรฉ and Paul Logan are enslaved to The Asylum, as they tend to pop up in almost everything that The Asylum spews out.
The special effects in the movie were as you would expect from a natural disaster movie churned out by The Asylum. Questionable and dubious special effects. I especially loved how the helicopter changed colors in between scenes, when you see it on the roof it is green, but as the scene shifts and the helicopter it is in the air, it suddenly became a desert camouflaged color. And the scene in the beginning of the movie where the actor and actress were in front of a blue screen, and it was supposed to be filmed in the arctic; it just looked abysmal.
Of course the movie's cover far outshined the actual contents of the movie. But then again, that is usually the case with these natural disaster movies.
My rating of director Mario N. Bonassin's 2023 movie "America Is Sinking" lands on a generous two out of ten stars.

I was hoping for a good action movie, I love natural disaster films, even the B rated ones. But this was just BAD ๐ The acting was terrible and the science makes literally no sense, and that's coming from someone who can't understand science for shite. The first two actors in the beginning are awful, not even beginner actor terrible, just wow. I like the CGI and effects, it's not the greatest but it's good for what they had to work with. I hope whoever made this film gets better writers and actors for the next one because this was just NOT it. Though I have to say I found the one scene on the highway with the mother and daughter to be enjoyable, the shaking car and reused shots was laughable, but in a good way.

One of the worst movies I've ever watched
A masterpiece! Definitely watch it. This movie is a blow to the industry. It should be awarded. I mean, for the love of your eyes, what are you doing? Didn't someone come up and say, "What are we doing?" The worst use of green screen I've ever seen. If I could gather 10 people who pass by, we could make a better movie.
I would say there was effort, but where is it? A mediocre movie. Sometimes I think, I say it's impossible to see a worse movie than this; I see worse every time. This is also an achievement; they managed to do the worst. Still, good work, it must be hard to achieve this success :)

I can't remember the last time I saw a film that came out so poorly. The dialog was like something produced by early A. I., or at least by someone who rarely interacts with humans. The acting was flat and unnatural, like this was the first time the actors had seen the script. The effects, well, you expect cheezy effects in a B movie, so I'll let that one slide. The science and engineering aspects were absolutely nonsensical. I can honestly say it was shockingly bad. I always watch to the end before passing judgement, and this one just doesn't get any better as it goes on. I give it 2/10 stars, only because someone probably put their heart into making it and must be reading a lot of terrible reviews right now. If you read this and still watch it, you are doing a charitable thing. Good luck.

There are those rare times in one's life where you are having an angst ridden, sleepless night and you choose to watch a movie that merely acts as a night light. This awful waste of time and effort is not, I repeat, not night light worthy.
So bad on so many levels, and not even unintentionally humorous.
Acting: bad.
Dialogue: bad.
Casting: bad.
Special effects (and I use this term loosely): bad.
Direction: bad.
Cinematography: bad.
Sound: bad.
Editing: bad
Screenplay: bad.
Locations: bad.
Props: bad.
Hell, the title is bad.
Avoid at all cost. You've been warned.
Funny though, I feel better now...

I only watch this cause I liked Johnny Pacar in different movies/tv show. He mentioned it on his social media page that it was free on Tubi....
This movie is awful. The worst. I wanted everyone to die especially the wife and daughter... Horrible Acting!!!!! Horrible Writing!!!! Nothing in this movie is good. Nothing.
Zero stars. But I gave 1 because I felt bad for Johnny Pacar.
The effects were bad. The music. The direction. The lighting. The editing. I honestly can't think of one good thing this movie has.
I also fell asleep watching this...
I know it's an indie/B movie but they didn't have extras and the scene where the car was supposed to be stuck in traffic was laughably atrocious.

Only worth watching just to laugh at the unbelievable bad acting moments. One actor, and I use the term loosely, actually read his lines. The thing is, he isn't even a good reader! And he didn't do it just once. Many of his lines were read and it seemed he was reading them cold! The acting is laughably bad. The story line is trite. The writing is trite. There were a few actual actors in the movie but not enough. The premise of the movie could have been good but the writers missed the boat. The only good part was the camera work. It was good for what it had to work with. Overall, I won't say don't watch it because it gives you a laugh once in a while when the actor reads his lines from a cue card.

I thought I've seen bad movies, but I was sooo wrong...
How is it possible to get any money to produce such a terrible movie? Everything feels wrong from the first second to the end...
Characters, dialogue, images, "special effects", science facts, everything is bad. This movie is painful to watch, each second feels like hours...
Well why did I finish it?? Yeah, all right, I've this issue... when I start a movie or a book, I have to finish it...
So the plot is that's the end of the world... hum more like the end of America, but some scientist is about to save everyone... it's not a spoiler since you know it from the start... and that's about it...

Possibly the worst movie I have ever watched - and I have seen Freddy got fingered.
I really wish I had read blueskittlezz review before renting this dumpster fire. The level of acting is below a soap or telenovela. TERRIBLE. I cannot stress enough how bad the acting is, and production possibly even worse. Do not pay for this movie. Do not even watch if it is free. You will regret the 1 hour and 23 minutes of your life. Zero stars.
The Principal in Billy Madison comes to mind when rating this movie:
"Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul"
