I did notice that some effort was put in it, the main actor did his best on camera, trying to act all believable, and so did the rest, but the script didn't give them much to work with. If you consider this a movie that is meant to help others to get noticed, it may pass for an almost alright movie, but either than that, I was bored out of my mind. When the action does start to develop, it's as predictable as possible, with all the typical moves. Most of you seen this movie many times before, and now you'll have your chance at a much cheaper version. It works quite alright for an The Outer Limits episode, cause it is shorter than most movies. So taking all in consideration, Alien Strain is a bad movie. You don' want to see it and if you do, most likely you'll regret your decision. Cheers!

Minor spoilers. Alien Strain is a tough movie to get a handle on. If you can sit through the whole movie, it is definitely worth watching (especially on a weekend evening). The basic premise is a couple out in the desert when the girlfriend is captured by aliens. The b/f is committed to the psych ward, accused of her murder by law enforcement. All is made clear at the end. It doesn't descend to X-Files nonsense but it also does not employ enough special effects or scare factor to make it an edge-of-the seat thriller. I think part of the problem with this movie and why it has garnished low ratings, is that neither of the protagonists, as actors, garnish much sympathy. BUT, lots of delicious surprises at the end. And I can tell you, if you are willing to watch the whole film, you'll be asking yourself, "What the FK is really going on, out there?"

Pregnant Rachel (Laura Gordon) was apparently abducted by aliens. Her boyfriend Matthew (Michael Finn) tells the story in an institution as a flashback to both the time before she was abducted and afterwards. The story was boring. He waited for her return and we waited for something to happen and they waited for the last 10 minutes where you see where their $50 budget was spent. Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.
