This film is so bad it's not even worth a quarter star.
Worst acting ever.
Terrible storyline.
Really annoying music that is over played.
What is a really good idea totally ruined by all the above.

Look alike bots, transhumanism... and ninja dinosaurs.
Actually packed with action, good eye to ear coordination.
Could be a wonderfull videogame flick.

Within the first 4 minutes we had a smoking will kill you joke, 'you only lasted 2 minutes' sex joke and an angry second officer that only gives short angry answers. We also had one of those scenes where the commanding officer explains everything by asking the protagonist obvious questions.
Oh and just before I switched off, somebody said "You've never lead one of those expeditions in the field before".
Just keep it. Whoever wrote this should be industry blacklisted.

It would seem my wife and I were the only people who enjoyed it. All of the points raised by the other reviews were valid but we found it enjoyable apart from the abrupt ending.

Really, I just spent one hour and a half of bad cinema, hoping for the explanation of the strange plot... It never arrives.

There are so many wrong things with this movie but I think the stupid accompanying music that never stops is the worst of them all.
Pity they ruined a classic interesting sf theme

In the year 2037 (don't ask) the MCS Nova Red is on a deep-space expedition, livable planets, natural resources, etc. Major Mason (Edward Gusts) is tasked to lead an expedition to an uncharted planet because they didn't use drones on Star Trek. The first part is the expedition getting picked off and the second part is the remaining crew fighting CG dinosaurs with a Romulan cloaking device from outer space.
The music was the 1980's style and the film looks like it is from that era. Acting lacked. The guns were noticeably plastic.

When a movie starts with crappy music and first scene is a couple having sex, you know the rest is going to be crap! Switched off at this point and reading rest of the reviews, don't think I was wrong!

To make things clear right off the bat, there is no personal bias against low-budget films. There never has been regardless of what people might think reading past reviews that have seen me be quite critical. There are good ones out there. 'Alien Expedition's' concept was not the best, it didn't look good and part of me did think there was a high chance it would be executed poorly, but there was something about it that semi-intrigued.
Just for the record, giving a film the lowest possible rating is incredibly rare for me these days, trying to be a fair reviewer trying to see the good in everything viewed. That rating is only reserved for films etc. that look like no effort or heart was put into it and like nobody was trying, a cardinal sin in film but actually not committed all that often in my mind. 'Alien Expedition' is one of the worst examples of this in recent memory.
Visually, 'Alien Expedition' looks incredibly cheap even for something made on a low budget. It's very drably and sometimes dizzyingly shot, incoherently edited (bacon-slicer-like) with glaring and unforgivably sloppy continuity errors and even the scenery doesn't make much impression despite being actually the least bad aspect of the film. Even worse are some of the most laughable and pathetic-looking special effects to be seen on celluloid, actually looking they were done as an afterthought and on the small remainder of the money they had left.
Can remember little about the music, which tended to be intrusive annoying, due to being used constantly and it gives one a nauseating headache, and never harmonious with what is going on, almost like it was written for something else. The dialogue is utter gibberish and truly juvenile and unnatural. How it was approved beyond first draft is beyond comprehension.
There is absolutely nothing thrilling, tense, suspenseful, emotionally investable or fun about the story. The predictability may have been forgivable if the film was actually engaging let alone exciting but it fails to be either throughout. Lets not get started on how insultingly nonsensical and ridiculous it is, things similarly are so vague and confused that coherence was also a major issue in places. Any conflict had no urgency, imagination, fun or menace at all, it was all just dull and dumb, and looked cheap.
As sort of expected, there are illogical and irritating character behaviours that makes one endear to them even less in a film with not one interesting or rootable character. There is not one halfway decent performance either, almost like they weren't even trying, with an unbearably wooden lead actor and a main actress who even for a robot character takes robotic to extremes, her attractiveness is nowhere near enough to hide that.
Summarising, a very lousy film and that is being generous. Best avoided. 1/10
