Although this might appeal to the under 10's, it is just embarrassing to watch this film of how cheesy it can be at points. I know its mean;t for children as I have said above, but this film just feels like it belongs no-where.
When looking at the cast I thought this was going to be a bad film. Even looking at the title, i new it was just going to be awful. So the effects of this film are terrible, they look like some bloody cheap crap. Their are many films around 2003 with better Effects and use of CGI. Like a kid would be recruited by the CIA, and men with the words CIA Written on the back of their clothing. Its pathetic.

Like any spy flick this one for kids is full of gadgets, martial arts, thrills and bad guys. It certainly is fast-paced and entertaining, and there are some funny bits. Muniz's Agent Banks character is engaging, but I found the negative aspects of the film to be too overwhelming. Knowing that most kids in North America will be seeing this film, I was offended by the constant cleavage shots of Angie Harmon's character, dressed in skin-tight skimpy clothing. Sure, she's sexy, but does my nine-year old have to be bombarded with that? I also found it a little scary that the whole spy thing happens without the parents' knowledge - like, are we condoning kids being in secret organizations engaged in dangerous activities without Mom and Dad even knowing about it? I know, I know, it's just a movie but I'm a parent and that's how it makes me feel. I'd say this movie is basically fine for older kids - 12-13 and up, but considering the violence and the sexy parts, pass on it for the youngers.

I watched this while babysitting my neighbor's kids ages 9 and 12. They liked it a lot, I thought it was okay. I got a little bored about half-way but not enough to turn it off, I wanted to see how they would wrap it all up.
It has some neat effects and the storyline is pretty good, every kid wonders what it would be like to do something amazing. The acting was pretty good, not Oscar-worthy but aside from from the Angie Harmon in the locker room scene it was cool. That scene was more than just a little disturbing. We all know that boys live for a peek at a woman but that crossed the border into creepy and really didn't serve any useful purpose at all. Girls feel uncomfortable enough when boys do that, making them feel like it's an acceptable way to behave is just wrong.
Final score. I give it a 5, if they had done the locker room scene better it would have gotten a 7.

Looked A little good in the trailer, but the movie was far from it. Muniz needs to grow up and the plot was the most ludicrous since Mr.Big wanted to corner the drug market.Note to Hollywood:Stop Clonig James Bond And Making Him A 12 Year Old American. It Turns out Horrible.Avoid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's not much to say. We sat through it and were pretty much bored. The only people in the audience who reacted to some of the "gotcha" scenes were the little kids. Frankie Muniz did a good job considering the lame, unbelievable plot. The adults in the film were silly cartoon characters, mostly incredibly stupid. The CIA people were unbelievably stupid; the villains were ridiculously villainous. And, the CIA woman "handler" of Cody, the kid-CIA agent, was a buxom gal with an inappropriate skin tight outfit showing all of her charms. The only people I think who would like this film are the 12 and under set. There was a lot of action, leaping, skate boarding, fighting. And, of course there were explosions aplenty at the end. It would have been a lot better film if it was played straight and not cartoony.

Farewell to Piglet's Big Movie, Treasure Planet and the like... We have now identified a movie genre that excites our 5 year old son AND is much more acceptable to Mom and Dad. Cody Banks was great fun for our whole family. Not once did our son ask to leave, tell us 'this is boring' or ask for additional snacks to keep him occupied during the film. Instead, he jumped out of his seat on several occasions exclaiming, "Cody Banks is the coolest ever!" After the film, he told us that he loved the movie more than everything on earth or outer space - quite a statement for a 5 year old.

If you are not going into this movie with unreal expectations, it can be fun! Sure, most of what goes on is impossible, but ITS A MOVIE. It was pretty neat to see a kid doing stuff that you mainly see James Bond doing. I think that Frankie Munoz did a really good job. It is mainly geared for the younger audiences, so Adults can't be expected to get the full effect, or find it riveting.

It's a clean Jr. high James Bond. As to the violence, Spiderman was worse. The only implied sexual content was what he could see with his xray glasses, underwear. I took my 4 yearold to it and he loved it. If your real conservative don't take little kids, if your middle of the road and you let your kids see spiderman then by all means take them. A great kids movie.
