Lots of fun to watch! Much campier than the first one!! Hoping to see it again! Private screening was extra fun due to audience! Need to by the DVD in October!! Played off the original and took the camp a bit further. Did miss Olivia Newton John :(. Calls out selective interpretations of scripture rather effectively too!

Del Shores has done it again! This long-awaited sequel has the same wonderful characters as the original Sordid Lives movie. It has incredibly real and hilarious dialogue, and just enough thoughtful insight to make people think about the ideas/values that society takes for granted. I just returned from the Atlanta screening. The audience was a delight. Everyone was absolutely engaged in the masterful production. When Brother Boy performed, the theater became a singalong. There was non-stop laughter. Perfect strangers were turning to me, commenting, "She's just like my Aunt Dixie!" That is the magic of a Del Shores feature. Everyone will recognize someone from their own crazy family. Make sure you see this fantastic film. If at all possible, get tickets to one of the screenings. It is an awesome experience.

I can't wait to see it and own yet another great creation of Del Shores! Everything by Del is incredible! Emerson Collins and Louise Beard are awesome as well as the cast(s) of Sordid Lives, the movie and Series, Daddy's Dyin' Who's Got The Will, Blues For Willadean, and Southern Baptist Sissies. Just trying not to leave anyone out who has participated in any of these films. Be sure to get this movie! You won't be disappointed...I'm a huge fan and always looking' forward for anything upcoming from my Sordid family members. love y'all !

Having been a huge fan from Sordid Lives, and the series, this sequel doesn't let me down. I saw it on the 2nd of July and it was the perfect kick off for my holiday weekend. Having grown up in the South I so understand and get this film. However, you don't have to be southern to understand this movie it is universal. The humor and honesty in this film really touch my heart and my funny bone... Del keep up the good work I look forward to much more from you in the future. You make me laugh and make me proud to be who I am.

Following up a quirky classic is unlikely to strike like lightning twice but Del Shores and the ensemble cast really delivered! It was really great to get another look into the lives of all the characters I loved in Sordid Lives but 15 years later. The story is current and the dialog never lags. I'll have to watch it again because the theater audience laughed so long at many points, I couldn't hear the next few lines. Despite mixing in a few new actors and a couple VERY interesting new characters, the original magic doesn't get lost. Actually, it blossoms. I think the surprise performance comes from the character Roger, the hairdresser. No spoilers, but this secondary character steals the scenes a few times and tugs at your heart at the same time. Caroline Rhea gets kudos for her hysterical on-screen performance but apparently is also responsible for pulling Whoopi Goldberg into the cast. The actors that played Dr. Eve and Wardell attended tonight's sold out SF showing and lingered in front of the theater talking to lots of people telling many fun behind- the-scenes history and stories. Who knew they were married to each other in real life? I've already pre-ordered the DVD.

The first film was a precious gem. The sequel is as well, and worth every minute of the 17 years we had to wait. It is one laugh after another from the first scene to the last. The cast is perfect, not only the returnees but the recasts. SPOILER! Bonnie Bedelia has one of the best monologues in movie history as she schools a bunch of fake Christians in their own church on the bible that clearly none of them including the preacher seem to know. A perfectly sordid sequel indeed. Del Shores did it again! 10 out of 10.

An amazing ensemble cast brings us hilarity in the face of oppression. Leslie Jordan is brilliant! Del Shores' writing and directing is fantastic. Lots of fun and a wake up call for bigots everywhere. (Oh, and a shout-out to Whoopi Goldberg!) Do not miss this Gem of an independent film!

I was one of the lucky ones who was able to experience this new release on the big screen at The Kentucky Theatre in Lexington, Kentucky this past week! As a huge fan of the first movie, my expectations were high! And, Del Shores and the cast did not disappoint. Having grown up in a Southern Baptist household and church, I relate to these characters. Bravo, Del Shores and Cast! Everyone in our world today needs to watch this movie.
