What an amazing story from start to finish. The American dream is reachable, well and alive, with hundreds of beautiful stories. The story is well written and the screenplay provides context of the struggle in this particular dream. I like that there was a lot of latinos involved in the production of this movie. And let me tell you, yes, you are going to cry. And yes, more than once. After the movie go and so some research of all the amazing accomplishments and struggles of Jose Hernandez. The perseverance of his dream and the regret of the "what if", made him achieve his dream. His family was a big support to his overall success. Very proud of Michael Peña for a great performance, maybe his best!!

In an attempt to not spoil the movie... Know that this movie for anyone, from any background, with any Dreams, is inspiring. Not only is it a great movie to follow the "Hero's Journey"... it gives credit to those who inspire, encourage, and sacrifice themselves for others. Proving, behind every great protagonist, there are many great people who help that Protagonist in their life-long Journey. Likely a film on a moderate budget, the story drives this movie, and elevates it to something greater than any re-make on the market. Refreshing for those tired of remakes. Definitely a film you can watch and rewatch many times over. Every cast member is Brilliant and brilliantly cast. As a movie fan, you can clearly see this Director poured their heart into this Film. I left the film wanting to thank all the people in my life who have allowed me to be who I am today... Whether it be your spouse, your parents, your cousin, your school teacher, etc... Give them a hug and thank them. For your colleagues you have lost, posthumously hug them too. Rarely do movies "Move" me. This one did.

My wife and I saw this movie last night, thanks to Prime Premiere. I have to be honest, I was not expecting much as I am more of an Action and Comedy guy. I think Michael Pena did an excellent job portraying Jose Hernandez. The film itself was a perfect mix of comedy, seriousness, and education. There was a few times I looked over at my wife and saw her shed some tears. We stayed entertained the whole time. This movie is definitely a feel good film. The world right now needs inspiration, and A Million Miles Away provides it with a sweetly inspiring story of love, family, commitment, and tenacity. Overall, throughly enjoyed this film and most likely will watch it again!
