A Legacy of Whining is a Midlife-crisis comedy drama with a lot of charm. The dialogue is on point and the story is quirky but relatable !

This movie had a good script to boot. The acting by the leads isn't realistic but instead is toned in an awkward way that fits the comedy of the film. Some of the shooting and editing aren't close to perfection but the film has heart and is good!

I thought A Legacy of Whining was quite good. There was some issues with the camera in a few spots and some random moments that were trying to come off as funny but ended up being strange. Other than that I liked the dialogue, the acting, and the simple story.

It is the worst movie I have ever tried to watch. Avoid.

Good stuff. Good to see a not so cynical piece of comedy coming from the indie space.

This is an offbeat, quirky indie comedy with a lot of heart, as the film largely revolves around two men trying to come to terms with their pasts. The film opens with a quote from Nabokov on the topic, and if you know who that is, then you're pretty likely to enjoy this movie.

A Legacy of Whining is a buddy movie of two middle aged friends who meet up after 30 years, more or less right within their midlife crisis, trying to cope with the changing world around them. The result is a hilarious journey through awkward late night adventures, which put our protagonists in somewhat precarious situations. The movie doesn't take itself too seriously and therefore makes for really good entertainment if you enjoy such stories.

Producer/director/writer/"actor"/soundtrack contributor and his reviewer friends would have you think so. From the first few lines of the plot summary I thought, maybe. Nope. 20 minutes in and I'm done and I think that's generous. Should have read the whole summary along with all the effusive reviews. That would have nailed it. Like a coffin. Instead, the quality of the screenplay following the dialog with the bit players in the opening scene was the exact opposite. Too bad, because the panhandler, hooker and chauffeur know their craft and deliver gold. I wanted more of that but the nausea introduced with Mitch's first few lines crept up unabated however, as Mitch's old-school buddy appears and they fade into the background. Then in contrast to Duncan's phoned-in performance, Munro's overacting really grates. But, I think this has potential and could be a work in progress. First, tighten up the dialog (maybe one of your reviewer friends could help with that). Then, hire a director, re-cast the lead or take some acting lessons (perhaps from one of the bit players). Then maybe you have something. Less is more, Mitch. Then get your friends to update their reviews to reflect reality.

A Legacy of Whining is a unique indie comedy from director, and actor, Ross Munro. The film and its script have an original sense of humor that I enjoyed. The plot concerns two middle aged friends who meet up after 30 years and get themselves into some unusual situations late one night. The film excels in embracing awkward comedy and not taking itself too seriously. This indie find really goes for it and doesn't hold back. I genuinely appreciate little indie comedies like these. I'd recommend A Legacy of Whining to anyone who also enjoys unique indie comedies as well.
