Why was this movie set in Seattle? Apart from a few cover shots and some driveby's, there was very little that distinguished the locations in the film from anywhere else in America. This is especially perplexing because of a scene where Julia Stiles character is working in a toll booth. THERE ARE NO TOLL BOOTHS IN SEATTLE. Since I am sure that the filming was actually done in Vancouver, I as curious why they chose Seattle as a location when they could have set it anywhere that a toll booth may actually exist. Or maybe it was because the director felt strongly that EVERY scene should look wet and miserable. I don't think there was a single outdoor shot without wet roads and mudpuddles.

This movie has it all. This is not a resumé of the movie, nor is it criticism, all I have to say about this is that it is by far the best Romantic/Comedy of the year, well, so far. I give it a 11 out of 10 btw. Watch it with someone special ;)

Ok, I did enjoy this film enough to give it a 5 out of 10. It was average and was a decent comedy. But it's supposed to be a romantic comedy and I didn't really feel anything at the end. Julia Stiles is nice but her character is not desirable. *SPOILERS* I could not understand how he would want this girl that is first a */dancer? at a bachelor party, apparently gave him crabs and can't figure out what she's doing in her life. The only thing going for her is that she wasn't as boring as Selma Blair's character. I just didn't like either of them and the whole crab thing turned me off to her right away.

it definately is not a great movie, but it made me laugh over and over again.. it was a bit predictable, but the ending was really good.. everything worked out the way you wanted it to, with a bunch of surprises. the reverand, played by the same guy who played the father in 10 Things I Hate About You, played such a great part, and provided good humor.. if you wanna laugh, see this, but don't expect too much from it.

As soon I saw the groom's boss I said, "I'll bet that's the bride-to-be's father." Ding! Ding! Ding! Correct! Every frame of this flop has been done at least twenty times. (Four writers in the opening credits should've been the tipoff.) Overall, a failed "madcap" comedy that should have been canceled long before production even started.

I would rate this movie five out of 10...5/10. As a native of Orange County, California, my compliments to Jason Lee. He has charisma and potential to be a decent, long-termed actor. I very much enjoyed his performance in "Mumford". What made this movie worthwhile were Julie Hagerty and Diana Scarwid. Good luck next time, Jason, in making a better movie. =)

A few years back I saw a play by the title of "The Perfect Wedding." While it's been awhile since I've seen or read it, I can say without a doubt that this movie is almost identical in plot to that play. The original farce, of course, had quite a few more outrageous coincidents and far more intelligent jokes but the basic lines are still there. Even though the original author is NOT cited in the writing credits I would be willing to overlook that if the movie were anywhere near as good as the play. However, that is not the case. Please, if there is anyone out there with an ounce of sense - read or better yet go see "A Perfect Wedding" if you can find it playing. If you can't, watch this, it's good for a few laughs, and the pharmacist and the spend-mart guys are great fun even if the leading male is a bit of a dolt.

I gotta admit, I was looking forward to this flick for a while.. I'm a huge Julia fan, I caught the trailers and gag reels.. and you mix in Selma and Jason, c'mon? How can you lose? Well, I caught an early showing, and it was even better than I expected. You don't only get great stuff from the big 3, but you get a great supporting cast, lots of fun twists, and a movie that balance guy film and chick flick perfectly. You want a great comedy, perfect for a date? A Guy Thing is *just* the thing to see.
