It was a very formulaic film, city girl reconnecting with roots blah blah blah, put her in cute country clothes which never get mucky (dirty for non northern English people). The lead actress seems sweet and extremely pretty but lacked acting ability or emotions, whether that was because her character was two dimensional or on the actor's part, I don't know. The supporting actress is a much better lead and actress when I have seen her previously, so would have made a better lead. None of the males shined but possibly also due to a dire script.
The grapes with synthetic leaves, daffodils in harvest time and very red, waxed apples, just fallen from the tree were, as usual, very silly.
The positives were a beautiful setting, lots of sunshine to enjoy on a dull winter's day and an inoffensive way of relaxing.

The main character says how relaxed she feels at the farm, and the movie really captures this throughout. The plot is nothing new, and I don't entirely like the way the 12 year old kid is treated, but this presentation brings a peace not often found in the now huge feel-good film library. I'm at a massive crossroads in life too, and watching this helps me remember I'm not the only one in that situation and to stay calm! I usually try to watch flicks in season, but this harvest theme has spurred me on through the winter - better days ahead etc. With three generations of characters, there is something for all ages / different stages in life, which always makes shows more rewatchable.

The plot was not original. The main character lived on this farm, but was clueless as to what went on. She was so overly dramatic that it was sooooo annoying. Her acting was so over dramatic. It was kind of irritating to listen to her. Then there was no chemistry between her and the male lead. But then he's not a real man anyway, which might explain it. The little girl was awesome. She was the best actress of them all.
The only way this movie got five stars is for being family friendly, not that the stars are.
It's possible it was the writing that was terrible. But the actors/actresses didn't help.

This is one of the most boring movies I've watched all year, and I watch one every day.
The acting, script, and directing were pretty bad. The lead, Sara, had the same wide eyed, deer in the headlights expression throughout the movie. She talked in a monotone with few vocal inflections and moved slowly, part of the direction, perhaps to convey how peaceful she felt?
She doesn't know the word to use when researching on the computer to how to pick a lot of grapes. They made a specific point of that. The word is Harvest! Never heard that word, I guess. You can not know a lot about farming, yet have general common sense. She obviously had none.
She doesn't know how to open garden clippers. That was pointed out.
She throws a bunch of grapes into an empty basket from 5 feet away, so obviously she's never bought grapes before, or does she do that with her store bought produce?
There is so much work to do around the farm, because the grapes are ready to harvest, yet 5 minutes into the grape picking, they're tired and hungry. Then after lunch, they all decide to go to town to help Sara pick a grape harvesting outfit! End of day number one. Whew, a lot of work!
She had requested flour from Gabe, then forgets about it a few hours later when he comes by with "flours" and makes a joke. She looks gormless at him, not getting the humor. "I forgot, " she says.
The whole cast, other than the little girl, is stiff and stilted and robotic, as other reviewers here have mentioned.
They threw in a developer who wanted to buy the property for a hotel.
They threw in a Harvest Party, what else? Just for the heck of it.
SO boring. There was no point to grapes in the story, and the story would have had some cohesiveness if they were harvesting apples, as there were also apples from the apple tree her mother had planted and Sara made her mom's apple torte, then was going to make apple cobbler. No grapes were required anywhere, and no one was making wine.
We don't know where this place was, but because people called her ma'am, which Sara said they didn't do in the city, and the little girl had a southern accent, it appeared to be somewhere in the south. They filmed it in Oklahoma.
I don't know what was the point of the daffodils shown and mentioned, as daffodils arrive in early spring and grapes and apples are harvested in the late summer, early fall.
As one reviewer said, it must be the directing. So bad, so boring, no life anywhere except for the precocious young Mabel.
I made it about halfway through, before fast forwarding through the rest to see bits of it.

There are just too many things that don't make sense. To be fair, I was multi-tasking while watching, so I could have missed some things.
1. The dad goes on vacation during harvest time and makes no arrangements to pick the crops. All the neighbors have to come in and save the day.
2. The dad asks her to go review the sale papers, however, when he comes back, she is still in charge - and making all the decisions.
3. She grew up on a farm and doesn't even know the basic lingo or anything about farming what so ever. So the neighbors always came around to help, but apparently, they didn't make their able bodied kid help. And they must not have every spoke about their livelihood in front of said kid.
4. The main character said she left shortly after her mom died, so she never learned anything about the farm. She also said she left when she was about Mabel's age (12). Again - she should have known the basics of farming and where did she go and who did she live with? Her dad stayed on the farm.
5. Do you really need to do a fashion show when buying clothes to pick crops?
6. She had on as much make-up as a clown right after getting out of the shower.
It's all in the details!

Another tale of city girl coming back to her country town and falling for local farmer boy. Nothing original, nothing offensive, nothing relevant.
FILMING: Some views of the countryside are pleasant and inviting, probably the better part of the entire content.
SCRIPT: rather generic and bland, with little or no drama.
CHARACTERS: Cute the little girl, the others have no depth, little vitality, and no endearing qualities.
ACTING: subpar across the field. Jonathan Bennett appears ill-cast in the role of what should have been a rugged countryman. He seems uneasy and comes out unconvincing. Definitely far from his best. Alix Angelis is pretty, but her acting is wooden, almost stereotyped. Half of the time, she is seen on close-ups with goo-goo eyes and a faintly lost expression that, I suppose, was intended to show how smitten she is from the first moment on.
DIRECTING: Probably the cause of all above detracting elements. It must be, as I have seen the same actors do better in other production.
Overall, a production that lives no marks, rather insipid and forgettable.

Nice harlequin vibes for a night on the couch but could not look past her foundation that was only on her face and not on her neck.
Anyway, if you like to know the plot after 5 minutes of watching (which is very nice at times) this is the movie for you!

A man farmer, who is uncle to Curly Sue, falls in love with a robot on an adjacent grape farm. The acting is pretty bad. Main characters are as stiff and interesting as a cardboard box.
