A group of investigators enter the former property of depraved serial killer John Wayne Gacy, hoping to find evidence of paranormal activity. Upon entering the place they set-up cameras throughout the abandoned house while going room to room with hand-held cameras, performing séances and asking for John Wayne Gacy to come forward. As the evening progresses it seems the investigators are not prepared for the horror still within the house.

I clicked the contains spoilers box simply because of the fact that here it is............nothing. Now see i love Paranormal Activity 1-3, The Blair Witch Project, Grave Encounters, Paranormal Entity, hell Open Water, and my new favorite is Skew. Each one was great and different in their own way this movie is unoriginal and dull. I couldn't believe anything that was going on and didn't care about any of these people personally i wanted them all to die. The worst part is that when your watching some of the video cameras the quality is so bad you have to strain your eyes to hope to see nothing. Don't waste your time on this one I've never been more serious

I am the first to admit that Asylum movies, for the most part, are a really really terrible way to waste hours of your life if you are bored. However, since seeing Paranormal Entity, I figured there had to be a few out there worth watching. This movie is one of them. I am not a fan of serial killer movies. The only reason why I decided to watch this one is because it is loose prequel to Paranormal Entity. I wish the Asylum would put as much imagination and effort into all their movies as they have that movie and this one. They should have kept making these movies rather than wasting money making cheesy knock offs of genres they are terrible at (sci-fi being one of many). Several things will surprise you: the acting is competent. Characters are fairly well written, and portrayed authentically. The camera shots aren't too shaky, and they make good use of stationary settings. Special affects were fair - the shadowy things were neat, but we could have done without the audio spookiness. Also, the house is supposed to be new but it looks very old. I could overlook that, if it weren't for the ancient fusebox in one of the scenes. If they would clean up the few mistakes they make in both Paranormal Entity and Gacy House, they'd have a couple of really good indie movies to brag about. I could do without the whole *-star-*-in-your-face scenes, too. Overall, not a bad way to waste your time if you enjoy found footage movies, or if you're in the mood for something different. I'm glad to say this is one Asylum movie I didn't end up turning off after the first ten minutes.

Arriving at the abandoned house of notorious serial killer John Wayne Gacy, a team of paranormal investigators looking for his ghost stumble upon a far deadlier horror lying in the house and must try to get out alive. This one was a pretty flawed but still somewhat enjoyable effort, mostly because this one is yet another reprehensible found-footage effort. Due to that factor, this here carries with it so many of the usual flaws to be found within the genre, as the incredibly unnerving shaking camera that keeps missing exactly what you want to see during the big action scenes, far too many moments of incredibly unnecessary footage merely to add up the running time and the always-enjoyable tactic of keeping the camera rolling in situations where your survival is more important. That happens far more frequently in the later half which is because that's where all the fun happens due to a slew of paranormal activities occurring with the beginning not being of any real interest with a lack of action, so the picking up the pace in the later stages is a lot of fun, including a ten-minute segment of full-on hauntings that are actually pretty creepy at times and pick this up considerably. Rated R: Graphic Language, Brief Nudity, Violence and a sex scene.

This is the worst movie that I have ever watched. I am not usually a horror movie fan, because I am a huge wuss, and get scared more easily than a 5 year old little girl. That statement alone should send up a red flag about the quality of this movie. I watched this movie with my boyfriend for Halloween, expecting to scream and jump and then have to sleep with the lights on. What happened was, we spent the entire movie mocking its lack of originality, consistency, and just bad judgement call in writing and acting. They made some obvious consistency errors, such as an actor turning off a lamp that wasn't on when viewed in the camera shot beforehand. Also things like travelling alone into areas where accidents had happened - typical bad movie behaviour. We waited the entire movie to be scared, or maybe even startled, but it never came. I felt like I was watching a poorly made low-budget student film. I understand and like the idea behind the movie, but they went about it all wrong. I have never posted a review before, nor have been compelled to until now. That is how bad it was. It's not even good for a "bad movie" night, which I enjoy from time to time. Just don't watch it. Trust me, your time is better spent elsewhere.

This movie put out by Asylum... I cannot find the review right now, but one other reviewer said their were some problems with all Asylum movies, that they repeat the same lines over and over, because they have nothing to say. This observation nails it. Listen for people saying the same things over and over, and I mean within seconds, not just as the movie progresses. Then there is this technique of "people chatter about nonsense until the lead character takes over the scene". This too was overused. None of the characters say anything personal, except during their 10 seconds introduction on the film. They also copy about 12 different stunts from Paranormal Activity - I don't mind a few, but seriously... I could come up with something different for the entity to do if I spent about 15 minutes thinking about it... but I won't, I was supposed to be entertained, not be the entertainer. Even for a micro-budget, they could have done better. The only thing I liked was the genre they are pursuing.

Blair Witch Is An Appropriate Comparison I Would Say. Sadly I Couldn't Stand The Blair Witch Movies They Bored Me To Sleep. HOWEVER Gacy House Makes Blair Witch Seem Like The BEST Movie We've EVER Watched. 🤣😂🤣 You REALLY Shouldn't Waste Your Time Watching This... ~Ash

...Because everything else is a waste of time. Apparently this is a sequel to Paranormal Entity, which I also disliked, but you'd not really think so as it has little in common with that. Everything just looked very slipshod visually, the camera work lacked focus, the effects while not the worst for the Asylum are still poor and somewhat half-baked and sometimes the lighting is so dimly lit. The dialogue is trite and repetitive, adding little if anything to the atmosphere, while I didn't care at all for the characters, they were annoying and you don't learn enough about them. The story did not engage in any way, the first half of Gacy House is so low-key and dull that you don't feel any tension or horror and you even question whether there is a story. The acting is stiff and phoned in in most cases. In fact, the one bright spot of Gacy House is the last fifteen minutes, while highly implausible it does have one or two good scares. All in all, a terrible movie on all levels apart from the end. 2/10 Bethany Cox

All blockbusters have rip-offs. Paranormal Activity was an unexpected success and naturally people tried to clock in on that. The best rip-offs were the Paranormal Entity flicks. But they just aren't that scary or creepy as the originals. The second entry here is also called "8213 Gacy House". And that is in fact what it is all about, go searching the ghost of serial killer John Wayne Gacy. I wont go into the story of Gacy because this is fantasy and not based on the real life of Gacy but one things is a fact. When they here the ghost saying Kiss My Ass it was in fact his last words before his execution. Where PA moves slowly into a ghost story the PE flicks do take a while before things go wrong. Here too you have to stand a lot of talking and noises before the crew searching for the ghost comes in front of the ghost. I can even say that it is creepy in the last 15 minutes when the séance go wrong. The other difference with the PA flicks is the fact that in PE you always have a bit of nudity. The fact that you are involved slowly into the paranormal activity flicks do work and do gives goosebumps here and there but this stupid story just doesn't work. It's nice to see an extreme close-up of a boob but that has in fact nothing to do with entities. It is watchable even as none character is believable, for horror geeks I wont recommend it but for those who are afraid of Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity, stay away from it. Gore 0/5 Nudity 0,5/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5

Sometimes movies are so bad that they start getting funny or you at least get some sort of 'okay' feeling.. well, not this movie.. Everything about this movie is just so awful.. the actors, the story, the effects.. just everything!. The acting is so bad, that it is plain to see that there wasn't a real script of any kind. 6 or 7 people talking together at once to create some kind of 'we are scared' vibe..? Not working. The effects.. whaha.. oh my god.. I can live with movies that have less good effects, but a good story to tell. This movie doesn't have both. the shadow effects could have easily been done with a commodore Amiga from the 90's, Hell it would have even been better. A black shadow flying over the road.. you just have to see it to believe it. And in the end the sound effects go overboard, in every room there is so much noise, you wonder why nobody died of exploding eardrums. If you gonna use something like the Gacy case, you better try to make something good. this is just an insult for all that have been involved, its even an insult to myself. The only good thing about this movie, is that you can check the actors future movies and avoid them like the plague. Do not watch this movie, not even on TV. you'll poke your eyes out before the end.
