Some scenes were sweet and cute and some scenes made me want to puke, probably more the latter but that's because the guy was hooked on H , which as well know from Trainspotting is not very sweet, especially if you have a lil' bebe and the thing takes to clambering up walls and such things...
But this , this was like a Hallmark-card Trainspotting; gotta love it? Why not , it was cool, really got down and dirty through the seedy underbelly of L.A. depraved thoroughfares. I one thing I always learn from these films is , if someone passes you a joint laced with H , just say no, or you could end up on the same seedy thoroughfares of downtown.... I don't know if smoking H is possible but from all the indie films, Hallmark or not, it is definitely something to give wide wide berth. It was a cool lil' gem, very creative with the book narrative thing, very visual in that regard, only a hour fiting so , it felt short , but it was nice, sweet and sour but definitely nice... could had done without the monkey brains, the diarrhea, the crapping and so much puking but it was cool! I would def recommend this to people who want a side of Hallmark with a slight edge...

This movie shows addiction and how it effects the family of addicts raw and uncut. It is about a sisters unconditional love for her brother. I almost didn't watch because of the reviews, however, those who have never been through this will never understand it.

As the older sister of a heroin-addicted brother, I identified with the relationship between the characters in the film. Not fun to watch but worth it.

True this hits home in dealing with someone who has an addiction, I think there was too much emphasis on making this a "beautiful" movie and not enough on the plot. The voiceover of the audiobook, the random close ups (Jacobson's chin???), and the constant blank stare acting (like Katie staring into the distance with her mouth open) made the pacing very slow. I was prepared to be reaching for tissues but I felt surprisingly little emotion (little...not none). I really just wish it was better but overall I was disappointed.

I say "surprisingly" because I usually rely on Metacritic scores, which were just OK for this one, with less than 10 reviewers being counted on for their score. But at just 74 minutes, it was so short that I wanted to watch it. And even though I knew it was a drama, I like Abbi Jacobson from "Broad City," and wanted to see what she would be like in this role. She was very good, as was Dave Franco, who I don't normally care for. And there was a real chemistry between the two of them. "6 Balloons" is intentionally uncomfortable to watch, but it was a good story, and very well-acted by everyone, but especially by Jacobson and Franco.

On the surface we think we're looking at one addict but there's really 2. Good performances and Dace Franco's junkie is real and raw - from the desperate to the euphoric. A small gem.
