The long awaited sequel to "13 Cameras" has finally arrived and boy, I can't await for the next one....sorry about that spoiler and sarcasm. Our near protagonist and creep, Gerald (Neville Archambault) places cameras in a rental home and allows people to pay to spy on the unsuspecting family. He also sells things like girl's panties, sneaking into the home. In a subplot, he has a couple of women who discovered him locked up in an underground shelter. He has the young. son of one of the captives live with him. There is a family of four, plus Danielle (Amber Midthunder) who is being watched. This is your basic creeper cam stuff. Gerald is starting to grow on me.

I watched the first one, and I thought it was great. I don't do well with gore, so suspense is more up my alley. When my friend and I saw that there was a sequel, we immediately ditched our movie searching and began watching this. And, well... it was okay. The beginning, with that couple was somewhat random, but I suppose the point of it was to remind the audience (or drive it in, because this could be mistaken for a standalone film) how disgusting, creepy, and malevolent the Slumlord is. Soon after, we're introduced to a woman that has fallen under his trap, renting out a house located in the middle of nowhere. The Slumlord enters, kills her dog, and kidnaps her, bringing her to an underground chamber where the wife from the last movie is also being kept. Their contrasting personalities and small conflict on escaping is great, since they both have pretty convincing points. Eventually, they both decide on getting out. Between these events, ANOTHER family rents a house. (Jeez, has no one reported any of these victims missing?) And... they're pretty obnoxious. Except for the dad. (Props to him for being smart) Also, can I point out the mom's inconsistent character? When they first settle in, the parents find a foul-smelling bag of fast food, and one of them thinks it's still okay to consume. That's the mom, who is apparently a germaphobe? Anyways, at some point, the son, mother, and father, are out to dinner, leaving the two worst characters alone, who are two teenage girls. They get attacked, blah blah blah. Honestly, I can't go into much more detail because the POVs are scattered. Every subplot gets equal amount of time, but I can't summarize everything, so here's some notable things: WARNING: EXTREME SPOILERS 1. The woman who owned the dog and was kidnapped SHOT the Slumlord. Good on her. 2. Seeing the wife from the last movie was such a pleasant surprise. 3. The Slumlord survived getting RUN OVER by a car. Finally, THE KID. THE KID WAS THE BEST PART. I WAS ROOTING FOR HIM THE ENTIRE MOVIE. There were parts when it seemed like he would become like his "father", BUT HE DIDN'T. Overall, the movie was okay. It didn't live up to the greatness of the last movie, but it did well with keeping suspense, and it kept me from turning it off. I recommend it, if you liked the first movie.

Not the worst movie ever, but put some effort in to your work. Why wouldn't those girls just spit the rags out. Anyway, that pretty much sums up this one. Everything happens for NO reason.

First, I love the internet. Didnt realize it was a sequel, but saw the "bad guy" and he's pretty unforgettable so looked it up and bam...13 Cameras. Anyway how this mouth breathing freak (looks like a human lizard) escapes notice in his day to day activities is a mystery to me. Anywho, he has a super elaborate set up, is doing his thing when suddenly I realize I'm 57 minutes into this thing and pretty much nothing has happened. We're meeting a bunch of people, he's peeping on everyone, our kidnappee finds out she's not alone and is planning her escape, but it's all so fragmented it seems like nothing is happening. On the plus side it looked good, but didnt have much else going for it.

They say " a sequel is no equal" , but there is an exception to every rule. This is the ultimate revenge flick, and the perfect analogy for the income inequality that plagues our land today. With both the struggling middle class as well as the millennials desperare to make ends meet , most will be renters for life. At the same time hey see corporate CEOs and board members hog all the profits and pay them, the worker bees a few crumbs, if that. What better time than now to present the wealthy land owner , usually an aging baby boomer in real life, as a creepy mouth breathing sociopath in this horror flick which you could say is the right movie at the right time. In this one the landlord is an older bloke with an unfortunate skin condition, and has some kind of a speech impediment as well. The renters are a generally a more fit gaggle of sarcastic teenagers, mouthy liberated women in sports bras and sulking adolescent boys. They may have less medical problems than ol Gruntly, but he has them by the short hairs with leases that can't easily be broken. He provides nice properties , and an unexpected perk is a fairly sophisticated security system, which includes the latest in surveillance technology so he can keep on eye on things , for free. At first I was disillusioned by 13 Cams, but did a 180 when I saw the ending. Don't want to be a spoiler but to tell you that the writers don't chicken out, a problem endemic to those ruled by test audiences that usually ruin endings in most Hollywood films made in recent decades. The writers in this case stereotype most people with male genitalia as creepy based on their prior experiences with sexting and inappropriate comments. However , as the story unfolds it becomes clear you might tell them : "You aint seen nothin yet". Combines current issues like the housing shortage and changing social boundaries in a smart and poignant way . Caveat snowflakes : micro aggressions abound.

The premise of this suspense flick could have made a good movie, but it wasn't. The only 'horror' to be seen here is the grotesque main character who limps, drools and sniffs undies. Not to sound like a perv, but there was no nudity (save afor a short clip of an extra in the shower); you'd think that a movie about a hidden camera voyeur whould show a little skin. And don't get me started on the ending. I don't usually add spoilers, but I am tired of films where the bad guy gets away, only to show up elsewhere (this time, south of the border with a van full of tied up women) to continue his crimes. Can we say 'another sequel' boys and girls? The movie deserves one star, but I'll give it an extra one since I did watch the whole thing...and I'm sorry I did.
