Worst movie I saw in a long time. Dragged out for a long time to nothing.

Anyone who loves indie horror also knows the flip side of the coin-that horror films made on a low budget often suffer in terms of acting, sound, story or cinematography. I'm delighted to say this is absolutely not the case in 13 graves. Paying homage to a combination of Brit gangster flicks and ghost stories past, Jacob Anderton, Kevin Leslie and Morgan James shine in this beautifully balanced piece that is as scary as it is as darkly funny. At points using heightened camp characters to ramp up the humour, the film doesn't sacrifice tension and from a technical angle it's incredibly impressive how much of the film was shot in exterior locations. The only weak moment for me was at the end in the wicker man-esque tribal bonfire as some of the extras were a little too modern looking in their styling, but this is one tiny note in an otherwise fantastic endeavour. The twist at the end of the film is also a delightful surprise, with the final shot sending chills down the most horror-addicted spine.

Solid dependable horror thriller with a very able cast. Special mention to Jacob Alderton as Billy who was effortless. First half was great with terrific direction. photography and a great soundtrack- which helped crank up the tension further. Second half seemed to run out of ideas. The ending didn't make much sense and seemed a little rushed and I would personally have liked to have felt a bit more depth and empathy with the characters. On the whole t though a great idea. that's sure to do go down well with horror fans.

When going into this movie I never had the biggest expectations, only because it was low budget. However, when watching the whole thing (that ending btw wow!) I really wanted to watch it again. 9/10 I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who loves a bit of horror. Ignore those bad reviews they have no idea what they are talking about.

The film reminded me of Ben Wheatley's "The kill list", but with a more supernatural element at hand. It had me gripped from the get go, and managed to keep me on the edge, and amused with the witty script. The score keeps you in a dingy dungeon you wanna get the hell out of, which interesects the drama unfolding with expert precision. Moody lighting, cult esque wicker man influences. This ticked a lot of boxes. Slightly confused by the ending but how does anyone end a film like this? And was satisfactory enough to not mar the solid production and acting throughout. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

The concept of the film is rather interesting I liked the two main mobster characters, and Greg played his role well. I feel as if some back story on 'The woods people' would of helped the viewer understand why they are there and who they are. The initial start of the film felt slow with the starting credits, it didn't grab hold me unlike most films where the actions starts from the get go, but that's personal opinion. Overall it was still a good watch, and I couldn't predict where the story was going! Well done to all the cast and crew for creating this thriller/horror!

13 Graves made in 13 days never stops reaching beyond its grasp and budget. With a solid charismatic cast we are taken on a 48 hour journey with two hitmen through the undergrowth of a forest that has issues with its use as a dumping ground for underworld losers ,gamblers and midnight ramblers. Against a soundscape and score that enhances the action and performances 13 Graves is more than an Independent film. It is intelligent and has heart. It is shot well and and John Langridge's writing and direction only dips once in the last third. It's a film about bad guys with no redemption. With a nod to Wicker-man this psychological thriller is a class act.

I have seen a few low budget films, and even if they are good you can tell they are low budget. 13 Graves is different, it may have been low budget but you you do not feel that you are watching a low budget affair. The Sound is excellent throughout, The cinematography is brilliant and the Script and the actors performance throughout the film are really very good. The film starts as a gangster Movie, two hit men taking their latest victim to the woods to shoot an bury him in the place where their other victims are buried. The tight and often witty script is wonderfully delivered especially by Kevin Leslie as Frank, and Morgan James as Terry. But cast remain strong and believable throughout the film. No spoilers, but things go wrong, the three met the Woodsman character and then the Horror aspect of the film begins. Think Guy Ritchie meets the Wickerman and you will have an idea of the feel of this film. As events unfold tension rises and things may not be as they seem, and their is a nice twist at the end. If I had a criticism it would be that the ending is not immediately obvious, some people did not get it. Also the relationship between the "acolytes" and the Woodsmen is not fully explained. However the film is 87 minutes long and if it were longer and tried to flesh out these points, it may have lost its impact. Also I am a believer in leaving things open sometimes, gives the viewers something to discuss and form their own theories. Overall 13 Graves looks Good, Sounds good and has strong performances by all involved. It kept me interested and I cared about the characters.. even if they were not "good guys" The film has strong themes of cycles, and consequences of not changing those cycles. Worth a few quid and an hour and a half of anybodies time
